Hey Guys!

I recently saw a video of Troy Hooser's Charming Chinese Challenge.  I fell in love with it. I really don't do much coin stuff.  Could a beginning coin guy do CCC?

Thanks for your advise in advance!

I too love this routine.  Its a great routine for learning coin slights.  Not too dificult, and its got some great moves.   I've just started to perform it and its "in the spectator's hands" aspect makes it a surprise. Get Troy's video, the routine, and all the moves, plus some bonus work are included.

I also bought this recently.  Looks easy enough as long as you practice and memorize the moves.

Actually I saw Joshua Jay demo this many years ago, and always remembered the impact the routine made on me.  Can't wait to actually perform it (but only once I'm ready)!

Thanks Ian.  I appreciate your response!  I will probably get it.  Like I said, I am not much of a coin guy (yet), but I do not mind practicing.  How long did it take you to get comfortable with it?

Arthur, do you remember if Josh did it the way it is on the trailer?

I would say it's very similar, Jabs.  But back then the coins Josh was selling were much thinner than the current ones.  I see that there's also a separate teaching DVD available for this, with additional contributions by Shoot Ogawa, Apollo and Thomas Wayne.  Am considering buying that, too.

If it matters to anyone else, the instructions are only online. No way to download them. At least that was the case last time I looked.

Although I don't believe it's available at this time is Recharmed, I'm Sure by Lance Pierce.  I know there's a Youtube video of Lance performing this, you need to prepare to practice a lot before you go out into the world with it.

I bought it from Josh some years back and the coins were so called feng shui coins.
They are fairly brittle. I give the first coin that penetrates off the ribbon to the spec and say something along the lines of "check that it doesn't bend or something".
One time a Young kid bent it and it snapped in two! Luckily I had spares.

Another time I ditched the extra coin in my back pocket and forgot about it until I sat down on a hard chair hours later and felt it snap in two.

I have since bought sturdier chinese coins and now the problem won't arise...

I know Joshua Jay likes to throw the coin up and catch it on the string. I dont know if Troy Hoosier does that or not. I know he doesnt in the video Ive seen of him doing it.

I bought this from Vanishing Inc. There might be a link in your account section to download. I sent them an email requesting a download because of a lousy internet connection and they sent me a link right away. I now have a copy on my hard drive.

Regards, Mark

Thank you for the quick reply, Mark. I checked with Van. Inc website and unless I read it wrong the coin were out of stock. I had previously emailed them was a question, and they were very prompt to answer. I would prefer buying from them if they have a coin‘s available.
