I just want to give Dave's Killer Magic Shop a huge shout out...not only because I have worked for the shop part-time for the past year, but because it is one of the most well stocked and friendly brick and mortar shop in the United States.

The owner and his wife, Dave and Gina Lemberg are the reasons behind the shops success and put their heart and soul into continuously improving it year after year. Its tough as they are both full time teachers
and parents of two sons (both of whom are attending college full-time), but they somehow manage to squeeze in the hours each week to run a truly magical business.

If you live or are visiting the Portland OR. / Seattle WA areas, stop by for a visit...they are a stones throw from Portland (20 minute drive sans traffic) and three hours South of Seattle (must be worth the drive as sometimes when I'm behind the counter customers will come in from Seattle and the surrounding area just to visit the shop).

Even if you never intend on living or visiting the Pacific Northwest, check out the website...just type in Daves Killer Magic and you'll find it...please consider ordering all of your magic from Dave...we need to keep the brick and mortars up and running!

I agree, Dan! Not only is Dave a great guy, but he has pretty much anything you could possibly need. He's also had some great lectures at his place. I had the opportunity to have lunch with Dani DaOrtiz and Paco Rodas because of him!

Check out Dave's store at http://www.killermagicshop.com

Even though I'm in Connecticut, I order from them from time to time, including yesterday, come to think of it! Makes me miss the year I lived in Lake Oswego just to think about it.

Albany NY could use a good brick and mortar shop.
I do believe I've ordered from Dave's in the past though.
Good to know about shops to support.

I lived in Albany over 20 years ago...cant remember the name of the shop, but there used to be a brick and mortar there. The owner was a great magician. Behind the counter was a huge, ornate book shelf used for displaying props and effects. The owner told me the shelf had originally belonged to Harry Houdini...that's the type of thing on-line magic dealers will never be able to replicate.

I am thrilled to hear you people lifting up brick and mortar magic shops. I own a brick and mortar magic shop in Scranton, Pa. The name of it is Mel's Maguc City. Please come and visit, if you are in the northeastern Pa area. I am opened 11-5, Monday through Saturday. I have customers tell me all the time how much they enjoy real life demonstrations over an online video demonstration, which gives a biased view of an effect. The customer can see the value of the products firsthand. I have saved my customers hundreds of dollars over the years. I think people waste money online, buying magic they don't need. I teach the effects, when they are purchased, if desired. This personal, one on one reltionship is lost online.

Hey Guys,

First post here. Dan, Rudy, Dave's shop is amazing! It is a very friendly environment to explore magic. I have enjoyed the evolution of the shop, from its days in the Dave's own garage, just past the kitty litter box and washing machine, to the fantastic brick and mortar on Main street in downtown Vancouver WA. I love going there and Dave will bend over backwards to help you out with your needs. I have even met some of my best friends via his shop. I suggested the current name of the shop to Dave a few years ago, and he called me the next day and had it already registered. I wish him many years of success.

Mel's Magic City is a great little magic shop, Paul is welcoming, helpful, well stocked and usually has some stuff you don't see elsewhere. Every so often he hosts a lecture (yours truly was one of them).

Nice to see you on the forum, Paul.

Good brick and mortar magic shops do need our support, they are getting fewer and fewer all the time.

I subscribe to Reel Magic Magazine. For Tuesday Night Tricks, Season 2, Magick Balay performed a couple effects using a reverse svengali.

Well, I search on the 'net for where to get some, and came across Dave's Killer Magic Shop.

The customer support was top notch, which will certainly be a point to consider the next time I need something physical.

I was in Vancouver about 10 years ago visiting an old skydiving buddy.  MANY years ago he asked what I was doing the upcoming weekend.  I was traveling to Boston (the other side of the state) to go to my first magic convention.  So Ed asks if he can go and I say sure.  He really enjoyed himself and got to see Don Alan, Derek Dingle, and Frank Garcia among others.  But his interest never went further.  I believe at that time I was out there we drove to Portland to a small shop in a mall.
I should send him to Dave's shop.
