When I was a member of another website Dan Harlan managed to f**** the month and the day using a smooth equivoque effect.

I am not very good at this, so let me ask the mental guys here..what is your favorite routine using this concept? F****** birthday's and important dates would be ideal.

So, tell me where to look.

Best,

The impromptu idea of predicting one of five objects that will be selected, items taken from your pocket or borrowed.

More often I use it as a selection of one of two items as part of a longer routine.

Favorite routine using it I've seen someone else do was David Berglas's "ESPacology" , again, the principle is just part of a much larger routine.

There are  a few publications on it, I started with Phil Goldstein's  pamphlet on it years ago. His "Multiplicity" DVD set is still on my wish list.

So, we're talking NLP? Still clueless about the missing word. Maybe I'm just dense this morning...

Based on Paul's post, check out The Laying-On of Hands in Michael Weber's Life Savers at page 75. Baffling, impromptu, and amazing prediction of one of several objects.

The Multiplicity DVD is excellent. One of a handful of DVDs that I purchased and a) watched all the way through multiple times, and b) felt was worth far more than I paid for it. Lots to be learned and studied.

Fooled me too, Anthony!  I was searching for a word to match the number of asterisks.

The Weber effect I mentioned above makes use of that very principle.

Mind Phantom  -- Hello!  I'm more or less strictly a "card guy", but I believe the always interesting AV and expert Mike Powers have mentioned this source on the Forum before  -- found in Bannon's Mentalissimo ("Rockin' the 'Voque", I think that's the title -- not near my books right now).  Bannon, the venerable creator of great card magic, is also a Chicago lawyer (which makes him a champion of "tricky" equivoque phrases, I guess!); I must say that I use his approach/wording frequently and it really seems to fly well with lay persons (and even a few magicians).  Definitely worth looking up!  Hope this helps -- johnny

Thanks for the tip and heads up on the Bannon book. I see more than one member has recommended that book. I am currently having fun with a routine called The Everlasting Pendulum Trick by Brad Henderson from his book The Dance.

What I like about it is that the participant holds the pendulum through out the routine. I would like to use Psycards instead of the major arcana of the tarot, so it goes lol, kinda hard to mark a Psycard.

Some equivoque in the routine.

Best,
