Are “Thompson’s Aces”. Part of the cold deck manuscript. Or is that something different?

According to another forum a lot of Franks material was destroyed in a fire.  Howie Schwarzman was familiar with a number of Thompson's effects, but is suffering with memory issues and most likely they are lost to time.

Tom, your characterization of Howie is spot-on.  His short-term memory is shot and his long-term memory is not what it used to be.  The good news is that he's physically healthy and in good spirits.

If any member of this board lives near Baltimore, please contact me.  Howie appreciates the company, even if he doesn't know you...and won't remember you after you leave.

Howie used to do a dealer demo at a convention that Tom G and I used to go to back in the 90s. He was so fun to watch, such a great magician.

Steve good to hear, I was under the assumption he was a little worse off.  One night he told me a ton of stories of Francis Carlyle and Slydini.  I tried to get a number of videographers to sit down with him and get him on video, but none did.

I use to live in D.C, too bad [frown] .. I went to Denny's once and I met an older gentleman who appearantly was F.Thomphson's gambling protege ( as opposed to Frank's magic's protege, who is probably Howie ). A pretty old school guy, he refused to show me anything even though I passed his tests, but again he also hand osteo-arthritis in his hands. Cool stories, however the impression I received is that, while F.T's magic was way ahead of his time particularly in the way he used memorized stacks, its all probably re-invented by now.
