Good morning Magician's,

My name is Tim Weckwerth, and I am at my core an entertainer. I have performed professionally as a musician, but second to that I love close up magic, specifically card magic. I also juggle, turn balloon animals and eat fire (as well as many other non-entertainment related hobbies and crafts). I am a Jack of all trades and have been described as the kind of person who can fill in for anyone who calls in sick at a Renaissance Faire.

I am always impressed with how the magic community has managed to guard it's best secrets in the digital age, when any yahoo can get on youtube and put up a methods video, and now that I am an adult with disposable income and two excuses to pursue magic a little more seriously, I have been investing in books and finding local magic communities to trade ideas with and learn techniques, because as I'm sure everyone knows, the best way to learn magic is face to face. That being said, I cannot find the magic community near me now (I live in Charleston SC, so I know it's there, just hidden), so I did a quick search for a forum, and found to my delight that this place had been created since the last time I tried to find one such community.

I have no aspirations to do magic more than at a bar or party, but I don't do anything halfway, and even want to do casual magic the best I can, especially since casual magicians tend to be the worst at ruining the best effects for the serious professionals.

Thank you for accepting me, I'm going to go join a meaningful discussion now.

P.S., I've been a forum junky for a few decades now, and whatever program this forum usees is the best I've seen. I'm likely to be active just because of that.
