Thanks for supporting our lectures fellas!! I really think that this is going to be a fantastic lecture. Howard shared some great stories with me over the phone yesterday. One of them had me laughing out loud, while the other one nearly brought a tear to my eye as he shared a memory with me about what Dai Vernon said to him the day before he passed away.

Howard said that he'll share magic (some stuff from Charlie Miller that wasn't shared in his other lectures), thoughts on theory and presentation, as well as his incredible memories of some of the greats in magic.

For those who haven't heard of Howard, here is a great interview that was done by Dodd Vickers over at Magic Newswire: http://mnw.squarespace.com/magicnewsfeed/2012/12/6/mnw337-howard-hamburg.html

I just checked it out, rready. Great effect! The ending was a nice surprise.

For those who haven't registered yet, it would help me quite a bit if you registered sooner than later.

Thanks again for supporting our lectures!

Just paid for this great lecture. I am really excited to finally get to see him live.

As I already said, he also has some really good stories to tell about Vernon and other magicians and the Magic Castle.

So let's get ready for Howard's magic!

Just bumping this thread in hopes that I can get more of you to register early. Howard is wondering how many people have signed up and so far we only have 25.

Would you consider taking a moment to register now? It would be very helpful and encouraging.

Thanks!

I hate to make this connection but we have all just had a terrible reminder that the voices that link us to our past are going silent.  Just in 2017 we have lost Daryl, Bob Cassidy, Celeste Evans, James Zachary, Paul Diamond, John Moehring, and now Eugene Burger (as well as many others).

Howard Hamburg may not be as well-known as some of those names, but he's the real deal.  One of the best card-men in the world, as well as friend and confidante of Vernon, Miller, Jennings, Cervon and many others.

Maybe people are put off by the idea that all of Howard's material is too technically demanding.  It's not - and even the routines that might require the acquisition of new skills will teach so much about the design of good magic.

I'm astonished that this lecture is not sold out.  I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to spend time with Howard.

Robin is right. I forget the date when Aldo Colombini passed away but he too gave so much to the magic community with his dvd's, books and lectures.  TomG and I saw him lecture not to long before he passed and we were both glad we did. I would recommend signing up now so Rudy can get a good idea of the turnout.

Looking forward to the lecture.

He sure is! Like I said, he fooled the heck out of me when I had the opportunity to sit with him at the Magic Castle.

I'm honored that he was willing to do a lecture for us.

Hello friends,

I have just pulled out  Mr. Hamburgs "D-Notes" again, 36 pages but filled with really great stories about Larry Jennings, Charlie Miller, Ray Grismer, Martin Nash and of course Dai Vernon. Great fun as the

routines that are described within, no knuckle-busters (also some routine could be seen as if they need really advanced techniques..) but solid constructed routines with highly entertaining potential. And..last but not least...the story about how these notes are called the "D-Notes"! Great story.

So, I´m really looking forward to this lecture and like Robin I can´t really understand why this not already sold out. Take that chance!

Axel

PS: Thank you Rudy again for pulling this up for us and for organizing all the things behind the scenes!

I also have these notes but in Spanish. They are available from Howard directly. I am also planning to re-read them so I can ask Howard questions in case anything comes up.

And before writing this, I was sitting right next to Howard... What? You don't believe me? Here is the proof. And in front of us was Harry Lorayne...

On September 2, 2017 I am looking forward to sharing with all of you effects with explanations, techniques, structure, etc. and interspersed throughout I will share stories of my relationships and experiences with greats of magic such as Dai Vernon, Charlie Miller, Michael Skinner, Larry Jennings, Bruce Cervon, Martin Nash and others whose friendship I will never forget.

I will be presenting unpublished material provided to me by Charlie Miller as well as many subtleties I received from The Professor and others.

If you utilize some of the material I will be sharing with you then I have accomplished my goal.  Many magicians throughout the world where I present my lecture have asked me why I am so willing to share the material I do and my response has always been the same.  "If the greats of magic were kind enough to share magic with me then why wouldn't I share magic with others."

I am always asked by magicians what does magic mean to me since I never used magic as a means of a vocation and have been "that underground guy" and my answer has always been the same.  "Friendships and memories."  This is what magic means to me so after my lecture is concluded, I thank all of you in advance for your friendships and being part of my memories.

I had the pleasure of having a test video call with Howard this morning and he demonstrated some great stuff that he'll be teaching us.

An incredible false cut that even fooled me when he did it again with the top card of the deck turned face up! A tabled 4 for 4 switch. A snappy revelation of the aces and freely selected card.

Howard is a fascinating person with incredible stories of some of the greats in magic, but I also believe that he is one of the greats in magic.
We're lucky to have him give this lecture for us.

If you haven't already signed up, I hope that you will.

Thanks!

Rudy

Mr. Hamburg,

thank you for dropping in for giving us a short teaser for your lecture! I can´t believe it isn´t sold out by now. I am really curious and open-minded to hear everything you have to say about your thinking about magic and entertaining people, about your experiences with most of my heroes that I just know through books and some videos...and I know it will be worthwhile because of your first post here...you will find many new friends here, I am sure!

Really looking forward to meeting you via internet!...and thanking Rudy again very much for making this possible! I would never have this opportunity to meet all these Heroes of mine without you organizing these lectures....

Greetings from Germany, see you soon,

Axel

Thanks for your words, Axel.

I've met some great people through this forum (such as yourself). Genuinely good people who I now count as friends. The fact that we get to rub shoulders with some of the greats in magic is the icing on the cake.

I love this community!

I just wrapped up another test video call with Howard and Steve Christian who will be there to help host the lecture out of Howard's home.

Howard was fooling the heck out of us with some great magic that he'll be showing us. He demonstrated another false cut that is incredibly clever. It's from the mind of his old friend, Charlie Miller.

I'm telling you fellas, this is going to be something that you're not gonna want to miss. If you haven't already done so, register now: https://business-hangouts.com/register.php?m=NTE2NzJ8MTE3NTY2

It's just $5.99 Don't miss it!

Just registered but will prob be unable to attend live. (Alabama vs Florida State!    Roll Tide!)

Howard is a great guy. I first met him at Lance Pierce's Pebble event a few years ago. Very generous and knowledgeable magi to say the least.

If possible, be sure and ask him about his insight on "breathers", OK?

Wow guys... I was privileged to spend the day with Howard Hamburg. To watch him work with a deck of cards is to die a happy death by 1,000 paper cuts.

I learned more about Charlie Miller in one afternoon than I have from years of book learning. FYI, Mr. Miller was an accomplished ballroom dancer!

After our camera, sound, hangout connection and lighting tests for next week's lecture, I was Howard's guest at The Castle. Talk about VIP treatment! I can now imagine what it might be like to get a personal tour of Balmoral with Prince Charles... providing Prince Charles could do flawless table faros.

Howard takes his rightful place in the Dai Vernon inglenook while dear friends and admirers mingle. I sat between Howard and Johnny Thompson as they discussed Miller's table pass, his "scooch" switch and so many other little treasures.

Mr. Thompson(i)'s close up act was packed with emotion. One might believe they've seen the best cups and balls extant, until they witness Johnny Thompson's emotional, character-packed and baffling presentation. The old cup penetration gag is handsomely turbo-charged in Johnny's hands.

Back at the love seats, Paul Vigil joined in. Paul not only delivered Johnny from Las Vegas, he owned the late close-up parlor with a devlish calmness, upsetting effects and brilliant syntax.

Michael Ammar, making his first Castle appearance in seven years, stops by to catch up with Howard. Michael is on his way to the Parlor to take over for the ever-hilarious and somehow horribly adorable Jon Archer.

That was the caliber of the bill at the Castle last night. As star-studded as I've seen over 25 years of visits.

Just before Howard and I went to see Paul Vigil's act, I asked Johnny Thompson if we could shoot a promo for Howard's upcoming lecture. Johnny jumped up and led us outside... (no photography allowed inside the Castle).

HOWARD: Johnny you look great!

JOHNNY: Thanks Howard... I feel like I'm 85... I'm only 83 but I feel like 85.

The two buddies then stood on the red carpet and gave us this:
