So I was practicing the muscle pass from right to left. My "coin that falls up" seems to have topped out at around 8 inches or so. But laterally, half dollars go about 2 feet now in a solid line-drive, which is pretty cool.

Anyway, I was mindlessly shooting the coin over and over while watching TV and caught it once by the edges in Spellbound position:-)! I thought "holy crap, if I could do that on purpose, it would be one hell of a move."

I doubt I could turn this into something repeatable. But I just thought I'd share. Has anyone else here ever done something by accident like that which turned into something you COULD repeat?

I practiced the coin roll for a couple weeks and thought I'd never get it. But somebody said it was cool that i could do that, and that's when i realized i was actually doing it right.

Muscle pass, just can't do it.

Michael,

I've been technically able to do the MP for about 2 years, but didn't go very high and I couldn't control it well. I practice it still though, so I've got 2 years of practice on this move under my belt:-P. I still usually don't use it in performance though because 6-8 inches still isn't very impressive for the "coin that falls up" thing. I'm now looking for ways to use it that go horizontal - as a utility move - rather than a move on its own.

I like your mp to spellbound position, pretty cool. I think Ponta the Smith makes good use of the muscle pass in his work
