Very interesting interview here, yes I saw this at the green place, not everything they post is crap, you know.

As for the whole believer vs skeptic thing, my head agree's with the conversation Rogan & Banachek are having, my heart say's "No" I've had to many things happen in life...that points me to another reality or the paranormal.

One of those things I brought up in the RV thread was
a direct hit on people Jumping out of a plane. What are the odds of a hit like that? That photo could have been a picture of anything.

I think most of the regular member's here at TMF could have done a better job then Banachek at the end of the interview, Rogan even busted him saying "you wrote under the table".

I'am not expecting a heavy responce to this thread. I do agree with those two when they are talking about "mediums" and those Ghost shows.

That's how I am seeing things.

Funny - I just caught that on YouTube!

I would consider Joe Rogan a tough spectator.
Hard to amaze, but I really like the way Banacek handled him. He flat out admits it's magic - but still makes it still a memorable experience.

Lots of subtle lessons here.

Hi yah Ratso !

Banachek was awful those last 5 minutes or so, it was like wacthing someone perform at a magic club for the first time.

Not only that but, Rogan continued to call magic "bs", and Banachek agreed with him. It was interesting but, bad, at the same time. I am not a Randi fan...I don't think everything is "bs" like they do.

The only lesson I see here is that one needs to practice before going on youtube.

Magic is an artform and should be treated as such IMHO.

Nice to see you on the board Ratso!

Best,

PS: I do agree with them on mediums and those ghost shows on tv, those are true "bs"

Met Banacek a few times over the years, a really nice guy. Was never a fan of Randi though, who I thought was a bit of a B.S. artist himself.

Randi's deception with the youngsters pretty much put a brake on all paranormal research at the time as funding dried up and educational establishments became embarrassed to be associated with it.

That's a long show - two hours plus - and I am watching it in sections. So far I am enjoying it. Rogan is an excellent interviewer based on what I have watched. Thanks for posting, Rick. I'll weigh in with a thought or two once I have finished the episode.

Not a fan of both of them... or Randi

just seems as if Banachek was trying to gain social points with Roagn, if you believe in "Magik" or not, why would you claim it is all fake during a performance, this is all fake, but play along...

[confused]

Finally finished watching. Whew! That took awhile. Overall I enjoyed the show. Some things I knew about Project Alpha, others I did not. Rogan was a bit aggressive when it came to the demonstrations, but I'm guessing that's just his personality. If I have the opportunity to see Banacheck live I will certainly take advantage of it. I'm guessing his show is well-structured and entertaining.

Thanks for sharing the link, Rick.

Maybe Banachek had a bad day on the performance side of things.

He shouldn't have told Rogan that he made DVD's for mentalists & magicians on how to bend metal. Rogan and his audience are laypeople, not magicians & mentalists. Laypeople shouldn't have access to that kind of information. A quick Google search and THERE, you can bend metal too.

Maybe he forgot.
