I went up to Chicago today to see Michael Vincent's "Master Class" at the Chicago Magic Lounge. Wow! I have known Michael for a long time and have seen him lecture and perform several times. He always inspires me to become a better magician. If you have a chance to see him, don't miss it.

Mike calls me "Patton" and I call him "Montgomery".
WWII reference that fits our opposite styles. lol

We did a workshop at The Motor City Convention
on our different takes on the Top Change. He's
a true artist and an incredible technician. That
combination is very rare.

Oh man, that really makes me curious: I am lucky to attend a very fine, small, intimate convention in Lübeck, Germany, near Hamburg, on august 30/31 this year, really great line-up Max Maven, Miguel Munoz, Kalibo, Mario Lopez and...Michael Vincent.

I´m really excited to have the possibility to meet him there because I do admire him for a long time. As Mike said, he is always an inspiration, his thinking and techniques are flawless...and he seems to be a really nice, sophisticated guy! I am really looking forward to see him (and of course Max, because he is another Hero of mine...).

If you have time and enjoy travelling: please come to this convention! It is not very well known, somewhat underground, but there are always great guys, Germanys masters are often there as visitors, Axel Hecklau, Denis Behr, Pit Hartling, Jörg Alexander, Jörg Willich, Ariana,...me...Richard Osterlind was there, Jay Sankey, Paul Gertner, Daniel Garcia, Peter Turner, R Paul Wilson, Dani Ortiz, Michael Weber and...Juan Tamariz. So it can´t be so bad.

Perhaps this persuades Mike Powers or John Carey or Paul Gordon or Rudy or (I know, probably not) Steven or Harry to take part! That would be most wonderful!

Lübeck is a nice old town, many historic builidings, lot of interesting (european) history, near the sea and Hamburg, easily reachable by train from Hamburg...

so what are you waiting for?

Sorry for hijacking this thread a little bit, but I ´m really looking forward to meet Michael there. Thank you Mike for the heads-up!

Axel

Had a chance to do a day-long workshop with Michael and Darwin Ortiz at Marc DeSouza’s house last November. But sadly, there was a death in the family and I couldn’t attend. How cool that would have been!

Next time ....
