New Blog is up! Read about one of my favorite effects from my new book Game Changer: A Numbers Game (Ladanye's ACAAN)
What's your favorite version of this classic plot?

Jason taught this item in his Murphy's lecture. It's great! I am using this as part of a gambling act I'm working on. I performed it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it KILLED. Thanks, Jason, for an excellent routine. It's a worker!

The Magicians Forum Ferry Gerats tipped a nice CAAN routine which involves two participants on here..but I can't find it.
It's more mental based then anything. It's very simple and effective.. That's mine.

I know my response is going to be unpopular because the Jason's routine was very well done and very entertaining. But for me it wasn't magical. It was a demonstration of skill, (regardless of the fact that it was done with magicians methods) Because the method was 'explained' (even though that wasn't the actual method). And for a lay person the method provided, keeping track of the cards during the shuffle, is completely believable. I feel the same way about most poker effects.
I like my magic and to watch magic that has actual magicality(?) __________________ firstname.lastname@example.org

Unfortunately he removed it after discovering that it was a reinvention. I thought it was great and still use it. In fact, it is one of my most frequently performed effects and I perform only for friends and family and such. He called it UCAAN, and perhaps if you ask he will send you the manuscript. I have it, but under the circumstances am reluctant to share it without permission. Av

I believe it resembled a trick put out by Atlas Brookings called The Crusade
