Hi Everyone,

I'm excited to tell you that we have an exclusive lecture for the members of the Magician's Forum!

Steve Reynolds has kindly offered to do a FREE video lecture for us this Friday at 3pm (Central)!!

If you've never heard of Steve or seen his magic you're in for a treat!

Just listen to what some great magicians have said about Steve...

"Steve Reynolds is one of the most creative and knowledgeable Cardician's I know." - Bill Malone

"Deceptive and absolutely incredible card magic." - Troy Hoosier

"I am a Steve Reynolds fan for two reasons: great methods and mind-blowing effects." - Allan Ackerman

"Steve Reynolds has a student's passion, a seeker's diligence, and an expert's attitude and touch." - Jon Racherbaumer

“The breadth of his material was wide, the thinking was deep, and the entertainment value was high…if all are fingers were thumbs, they would all be up.” - Lance Pierce

"I've had the pleasure of watching Steve Reynolds grow and mature into one of the finest thinker/creator/researchers in the field of card magic." - Marc DeSouza

Again, this is only for the members of our forum and limited to 100 attendees!

Here is the link to register for Steve's lecture: https://goo.gl/hVzHkS

By the way...this is the first of many lectures that will be given for the members of our forum.
In the future, these will continue to be FREE to our Inner Circle members and only $5 for our regular members. Membership does have its benefits!!

I'm very grateful to both Steve and Trini for making this lecture possible!

I hope that you all can make it! See you then!!

Rudy

I wish I could but I will be at work at that time. Will there be an option to get/purchase a video of the lecture after the fact? Just wondering.

Hi Sean, I'm sorry but this won't be recorded. But...you'll be happy to know that Steve has a Penguin Lecture that has 2 hours of his material!

You can get it here.. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/3223

I hope that you'll be able to make the next lecture!

Rudy

I will be traveling to a gig during this event so I will miss it.

Regardless, thanks to Rudy, Steve and Trini for making this available to us.

Hello All,

I wanted to thank you all for having signed up for my lecture and particularly Rudy and Trini for setting all this up.

As a thank you, you'll have access to two pdfs.

For those who haven't signed up yet, let me tell you a bit about what I'll be doing.

My lecture tomorrow will be an exciting one with many of my favorite effects and  few surprises.

I'll discuss my work and insights into Brother John Hamman who was a major influence on all my magic.

Further, I'll show you routines from both my restaurant and bar experiences. Tricks and presentations that work for close up and walk around.

These will be updates on some classic effects and will introduce some new and useful tools that you can add to and energize your own repertoire.

I'll also give a performance of a brand new routine that has never been seen before.

I'm looking forward to sharing this material and connecting with you.

See you tomorrow,

Steve

Thank you all for your patience with our technical difficulties. Totally my fault.

That was our first of many magic lectures and I'm very grateful to Steve Reynolds for being our first lecturer!

For those who attended, you can expect to be sent that free PDF of Steve's magic.

In the meanwhile, please take some time to go and check out his website. He has lots of great stuff available!

I hope that you enjoyed yourselves!

In spite of a couple of tech "hiccups," I thought it was a excellent first attempt. I'm sure there were lots of learnings, and that each lecture moving forward will improve exponentially.

Steve Reynolds is such a nice guy. He spent time sharing some incredible magic, and really thoughtful insights. I'm so glad I was able to watch the whole thing.

He is one of the most dedicated students of card magic I have ever had the pleasure of watching. I am so glad I was able to spend ~ 2hours learning from him. Additionally, his Monday Marlo series is an odd mix if disseminating information, and teasing you with some obscure Marlo effect, that he may, or may not share the references.

Thank you Steve & Rudy for a great afternoon. I really appreciate your efforts on our behalf. And I want to thank Steve Friedberg for being ready and able to step in and share one of his effects during one of the glitches.

Be well & do good things.

Steve, I want to say what a pleasure it was to see you putting Bro. Hamman's concepts to expert use.
I studied Hamman for a long time and seeing your card handling instantly reminded me of his teachings. Kind of like hearing a guitar string plucked and knowing the artist right away.
This would not be possible if it were not flawlessly executed and fully understood.
I really enjoyed it. Thank you.

I'd like to thank all of you that attended the lecture. Despite the technical difficulties, we had a great turnout, and most importantly, a great time. Thanks to Steve for doing the lecture, thanks to Rudy for giving us the means to do this, and thanks to you all for attending. I feel it was a success. As Rudy stated, there's more to come.

Best,
Trini

Thanks again for having me.

I enjoyed sharing these items and talking about the great magicians that have influenced my card magic and their invaluable work.

Not everyone knows what a fantastic thinker Hamman was and it is important that this is learned and never forgotten.

Thank you, magicfish. I'd love to talk more about your experiences with Hamman and his work.

DelMagic, thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

DV, thank you for your kind words. I worked very hard over the years and love this stuff so much. I feel entrusted (as we all should) with valuables which should be treated with respect. I know you feel the same.

I'm glad you're enjoying the "odd mix" of Marlo Monday. It's that way because I'm an odd mix and so were the guys who taught me! [smile]

I was able to catch the tail end of what Steve Friedberg was sharing and he'll have to show me the rest when we meet next.

Thanks again to Rudy for starting all this.

And thanks to Trini for the technical support--because if I was the tech, we'd all be talking about how much the lecture sucked.

Steve

Very well, put Magicfish! A very beautiful way to describe it.

Thanks again to Steve and Trini and to everyone who showed up and demonstrated patience and grace toward me as I worked through the technical difficulties.

You have my word that I'm committed to excellence and that the lectures (from a technical standpoint) will get better!

Take care,

Rudy

I wanted to let you all know that Steve's version of George McBride's, "Transmutation" will find the explanation in the Session Room...

http://www.themagiciansforum.com/post/jackmutation-by-steve-friedberggeorge-mcbride-7930498

He calls it "Jackmutation". A great effect!

Thanks for sharing it with us!

Big thank you to Steve for being gracious with his time and material, and to Trini (who will one day be famous)and Rudy for getting this together..

It WAS a shame about the technical hiccups. I think for a third of it I was watching Rudy look pensive, and clicking onto an inch square picture of Steve did nothing to bring him back center page. I tried to pretend it was an old Martin Breese audio cassette and pick up as much as I could from listening.

I was watching through a Facebook link, maybe that had something to do with the non responsiveness of my clicking.

I'm not tech/computer minded and this was my very first attempt at watching something like this. I did manage to learn something though. The sandwich glimpse I had completely overlooked and I actually HAVE the FASIDU book . The opening assembly made me think of something I'll share later, elsewhere on the forum. Steve is a very clever thinker, and now at least I know which monk it is! [smile]

As for Steve F's "Jackmutation" as he discussed the thinking behind it, it immediately made me  think of Roy Walton's "Oil and Queens".

Thanks for your input, Paul. It's been helpful to hear some of the feedback about what you all experienced on your side of the screen.

I'm going to do a test run and log on with Facebook to see if I need to be made aware of any glaring differences.

I truly apologize, but I'm glad that you were able to get even on or two things that you came away with.

I'm glad that you were able to join us, Paul! Maybe you could do a lecture for us sometime! [smile]

Mr. Hallas,

Thank for the kind words.

Regarding the invisible card glimpse idea.

The "removal" was part of Paul Cummins' "Invisible Card" and didn't feature the glimpse aspect.

This was developed for the trick described in Route 52 (2009).

Thanks again and I'm sorry you didn't get to see some of the routines and explanations.

But, and this may be of interest to you, I'll be giving a Tribute to Brother John Hamman in an upcoming AF Talk. The "Daylight Visitor" will be talked about in further detail along with many other Hamman-esque items.

Thanks Again,

Steve

A million thanks to Steve Reynolds for his time and generosity, Trini for coordinating this event and Rudy for creating such a valuable and civilized arena for those who love this art form. Also, a shoutout is due to Steven Friedberg for opening the show.

In just a few short months, The Magician's Forum has become a think tank like no other in the online magic world, a place of respect for beloved gurus, a delightful, troll-free haven for enthusiasts across the globe... a warm and welcoming clubhouse where great minds can think alike, challenge, teach, admire and inspire. I feel privileged to be among this crowd.
