Hi, I hope this is the right place for this. I have been very busy lately ( too busy to write an extensively re-edit a magic essay I wrote earlier and had gotten alot of feedback about, if you're interested, click here   . Magic-wise I focused on getting an open mic and performing stand up\parlour for the first time. I've been doing close up for 10 years as an amateur, I want to take it further. English is not my first language though I certainly try. The video isn't clear given the lighting though you should get an idea of what the effect is. Enjoy. Feedback is welcomed. Given its a comedy club, profanity is there.

Not bad. Not bad at all. Congratulations for getting up there and putting yourself on the spot. It wasn't easy and you should be proud of the accomplishment! You have stage presence and the audience responded positively to you. Good selection for the room; you involved the audience, generated ongoing interest, and invested them in the payoff. Three suggestions: 1. Don't apologize in advance for possibly screwing up. 2. Slightly increase your pacing. 3. Script in a couple more jokes. Oh, and one additional suggestion: Keep at it! Thanks for sharing, Av

Thanks! Quick reflections on your points, which are valuable: 1- The apology was part of the premise, "BOO me if it doesn't work out, Go crazy if it does". Did that come through the presentation? 2- I speak fast when stressed so I deliberately spoke slower. I'll keep that in mind, thanks! 3- Indeed, I was told that I got only 3 minutes which they seem to have generously extended. I will keep that in mind too. Thanks again!

Medifro, No, the sound quality was iffy at times and it was not at all clear to me that your apology was part of the premise. If you were up against the clock I can understand the need to push ahead and that does make a difference. Av
