5pm (pacific)

6pm seemed a bit too late for our east coast friends.

Thanks Rudy for organising a great session.

For the end of 'Trick Kards', immediately after the flushtration count, deal the left hand cards face up on the table (reversing the order), then drop the right hand packet on top of the left.  Then you can do the magical gesture, and turn over and do an Elmsley Count to reveal the final colour change.

Thanks again

Somebody was selling the book I showed you on the session, Nick Trost's Subtle Card Creations Volume 1. If it was already sold, good luck finding it because it is out of print. It has some pretty good effects, like the one I showed you... It was not expensive here on the forum. Go to the "Another Man's Treasure..." category here on the forum... where you can buy and sell stuff...

Evan S. was the seller and he had among others...

Nick Trost's Subtle Card Creations - Volume 1 by Trost, Nick $80 (NEW)
Nick Trost's Subtle Card Creations - Volume 4 by Trost, Nick $50 (NEW)

Get it if available! You will not regret it... $80 is not expensive for an out of print book of this caliber and if it is available...

Just wanted to say that the ebook for the Card Magic of Nick Trost, which I think we discussed today is for sale at LLepub

http://llepub.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=13

Just in case anyone is interested.

Awesome session once again, good to be able to share and bounce off ideas.

Here is a link to my article about faro shuffles - page 54 onwards of this free magazine for puzzle fans... http://themetagrobologist.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Metagrobologist_Autumn_Issue1b.pdf

And here is the subsequent article I mentioned... http://statweb.stanford.edu/~cgates/PERSI/papers/shuffling.pdf

Thanks for sharing that effect with us and for this important bit of info on how to bring it to a close.

I also appreciate the link to your work on the faro shuffle.

It was nice meeting you, Jeremy. I'm looking forward to our next session!

I love these type of sessions, even though I don't have much to offer at this point.

As I work through my tabled riffle shuffle, maybe Giobbi will teach me a trick and I can show off my start down the road to cards magic.

As an aside, I used to think that cardistry had no place in Magic, but for whatever reason, I'm slowly rethinking my stand on that.

As a mentalist, I always thought that showing skill with cards was detrimental, but now that I'm moving away from mentalism, I see nothing wrong with throwing a little bling into the mix.

"Don't run when you are not being chased."

As I think about the Nebula Card (as I know it) and the ending that I shared with you in yesterday's session, probably some people would tell me that I am trying too hard to prove that I have regular cards, different colors but regular cards and different from the one originally shown.

What do you guys think, is it too much?

(I still haven't seen the complete video to see Jeremy's take and his use of the Elmsley count on his effect.)
