Michio Kaku has written a great book which should appeal to mentalists. He looks into the scientific studies of Mind-Reading, Telekinesis, Memories, Dreams and more. Lots of background information/presentational ideas here for the modern day performer and the following segment reminded me of the inspiration for James Randi:

"Houdini took pains to explain that everything he did was an illusion, a series of clever sleight-of-hand tricks. Mind reading, he would remind people, was impossible... he was even on a committee organized by Scientific American that offered a generous reward to anyone who could positively prove they had psychic power. (No one ever picked up the reward) - Houdini believed that telepathy was impossible. But science is proving him wrong"

Kaku strikes me as a bit of a cuckoo. Perhaps a brilliant theoretical physicist, he far too often strays into sci-fi and fantasy in his books. But perhaps that is the exact reason his books may be of use to some entertainers as you suggest!

Take issue with you there, Anthony. Not once did you use the word "really". [wink]

I mean, Really.
