I just got two of the blue Summer NOC Decks by The Blue Crown. I have a few orange decks on the way as well.

I love these cards. They're printed by the US Playing Card Company. I think I read that they're air cushion finish somewhere. They have the standard faces which I prefer. You get two Jokers, both alike and both have a small pineapple in the middle. You also get a blank card and an extra Queen of Hearts.

The cardstock is nice and thin. Picking up the deck you might think you're missing a card or to but they're all there. The thin stock makes the cards easy to spring and pinky counts are so much easier.

Like the NOCs before, you can tell the suit by just looking at the back even though the back design is just a solid color.

These have a fun summer vibe to them. I'll be carrying a deck of these with me and using them at gigs this season.

Keep an eye out this summer because Alex Pandrea is having sales every week.  He just had one for the Summer NOC 9-pack.  I have a few of the NOC Originals decks and I agree that the cards are great.  They also came with a blank and duplicate card.  I've had a NOC V3 deck which was printed by Expert Playing Card Company and did not like them.  Did the Summer NOCS come with any extra cards?

Yes, as noted above, you get a blank card and an extra Queen of Hearts.

I’m over here at the magic shop and asked to look at this deck after reading your review, EvilDan. The way that they are marked is very clever. I bought myself a pack. Thanks for the review!

Pretty sure that all the NOC decks are marked in exactly the same way.

These Summer NOC decks are printed by Expert Playing Card Company in Taiwan with their Master finish (which is identical to the Diamond finish used by Legends Playing Card Company), is that correct?

They tend to be thin but very snappy cards that are extremely durable and have good handling, although a very different feel from a USPCC printed deck.  The embossing is less obvious, and so they cards feel a bit more slick and plastic-like.

I love the way the Summer NOC decks feel. I compared then to some older NOCs that I have and they're like day and night. Right now they're my favorite decks to perform with.

That's very interesting - who are they produced by, and how are they different?

Same company. I have a few yellow version 2 or 3. These are a thicker, stiffer card stock. Then I have a few Laura London NOC decks they were thinner than those. I liked the Laura Londons, but the Summer NOCs are even better.

Alex Pandrea originally used USPCC on version 1 of the NOCs.  Then he switched to Expert for the next few versions which ended up having the plastic feel.  After feedback from customers not liking the "feel" he went back to printing with USPCC (NOC Originals version).  For those interested he just released a couple new NOCs, one being NOCs of Steel.

Paul, you would think so, right? But they just don't wow me enough to get them. Not sure what it is or isn't about them.

I liked the Lovecraftian look of some of them. Perhaps the most horrific thing was the price, lol.
