I love that one!  Always wanted to perform it, but at the time his original videos were released, the only decks of cards available in a variety of different back designs were the smaller bridge size.  Now that many Bicycle decks come with different designs, maybe it's worth a second look ...

I think Steve Reynolds sells a set of cards and his variation of the routine.

I had seen Aldo Colombini lecture, one of his last, in New Orleans and picked up his handling of Roy Walton's Restless Colors.

I reworked it so there was no false count to show the cards, you simply spread the packet to show the duplicates.

Instead of the Elmsley Count, I substitute another count allowing for a direct color change without any displacements to set up.

And finally, at the completion of the effect, the cards are reset without any additional adjustments.

Rudy suggested I post the link here:

Elmsley's effect is fantastic and I think it was Walton's inspiration for his effect in Epilogue.

Steve

I think Vanishing Inc has a Dazzle set.  When I had Gary Plants provide a Dazzle set after the Emsley videos came out.  I cut the phases way down, thought it was too repetitive.   Aldo's version is great, I believe I have 2 sets.  I'll have to look into Steve's routine.

I had heard of Elmsley's effect but never seen it but based on the description I came up with my own version. Later, when I read Elmsley's version, I still like mine better. Here it is:

My opening sequence was later used by Daryl in his routine, "Cardboard Chameleons."

I have Sizzle...despite early reviews that bashed it, I get great reactions when performing for lay folks!

However, I love Elmsley's original version (regardless of the cards he uses).

Bruce Cervon's "Dirty Deal" was a big seller at one time that had actually been based on Elmsley's "Dazzle' routine.

This is definitely one of my favourite Alex Elmsley routines that we have on video!

I really like this one too - his Four Card Trick:
