Okay; I feel like "feeding my ego" a bit. So, here are two posts I just saw at another forum:

Yeah, received mine today. From just scanning over it, I already know, that it will keep me busy for quite some time.
And that every penny is spent on the right thing.
Thanks Mr. Lorayne for this treasure.

Even if you had never owned nor read a Lorayne book and this was your one and only exposure to his work, you would be privy to some of the strongest, most magical, impromptu card magic in print.
Truly, a superb collection. Many artists fade with longevity, Lorayne gets better.

As I posted elsewhere...Harry... You made Stab Two virtually impossible to screw up. I was able to do it 5 times in a row. Before your revision I didn't trust myself with it.

Yes; thanks for mentioning that, Kevin.  Many are also raving about my addition/ending (which seemed so obvious when I thought of it) to That's The Truth!  That's become one of my favorites - it's different - entertains and fools, badly.

I can't do the plunger. I can't do it on Hartman's Every Which Way.... and it doesn't work on That's the Truth either.. for me. I am doing something wrong. I'm putting on Best Ever and figuring this out once and for all.

I don't know - I read threads like this, while I'm in the throes of filling orders for AND FINALLY! and I start to think of the quite a few who have raved about ALL my books, ordered them as soon as available - and that I haven't heard from for AND FINALLY!   I guess it's old age, but t's worrisome, bothers me.  And no, I'm not trying to particularly sell them - what's worrisome is that I wonder if they're okay - physically and otherwise.

People like - first names only - of course there are many with the same first name, but the people I'm thinking of WILL KNOW - I think/hope. Perhaps they'll contact me just to say "Hey Harry; I'm okay."

Names like Murray, Jerry, J-J, Doug, Michael, Jon, Dominic, Alan, Randy, Paul, Frank, Barbara, Peter, Ian, David, Bill.    Silly of me, I know - can't help it - growing old sucks!!

I know that you’ve expressed this concern before and I’m sure that it’s valid. You have lived so many years on this planet and have built so many relationships with other magicians and fans, that it must be painful to see many of them leave this earth before you. I suppose it’s the blessing and curse that comes with a long life.

I don’t think it’s silly of you to worry about it. It shows that you care. I’ll never forget getting an message from you to make sure that I got home safe after visiting you.

You have a good heart. It’s one of the reasons why you’re my favorite.

Your friend,

Rudy

Talk about coincidences...a magic friend is sitting at my desk. He's talking about AND FINALLY!, asking if I would do another book (doubt it!) and then starts talking about the list on Page 246/247, titled PINPOINTING AN ERA, in which I listed soooo many magic friends in one section, and soooo many non-magic celebrities in another - Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Johnny Carson, Anne Bancroft, Gwen Verdon, Burt Lancaster, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and on and on.  Then he asks about Dick Cavett - who should be on both those lists - who is a good friend - who hosted my second TV infomercial for my MEMORY POWER COURSE, etc. And as he asks about him - my computer does the "new email" beep.  I say, "Excuse me, I better check this." And this is that email.  From Mr. Cavett!!!

There are many very good teachers of magic.  And then there is Harry Lorayne.

 All best, lieber meister,   D.

I love the kind of coincidences that "work" for me. Two things occurred within the last couple of days - which instigate this post (rant?). Talked to a magic friend who asked if it was a good idea to price my books as high as I do - and then a thread at the "other place" where a troll (who comes in 96% of the time when there's anything nice being said about me - to add his put-downs of hate and jealousy) came in when there were nice things being said about me.

The coincidence I refer to is - he made an obvious (he is Mr. Obvious) stink about the "high price" of my books. (Admits that he doesn't read then - admits he's not into card magic - no time - too busy sitting under his moist rock tearing wings off flies!)
Anyway, as I said there - sometimes I feel like thanking these few obvious "put-downers" because they instigate many responses that are flattering to me. Here's one such flattering example, by magicfish (hope he doesn't mind me repeating it here without asking his permission):    Also forgive my highlighting certain phrases - I do so because they're always in mind as I write/teach.

"IHOP, nothing could be further from the truth. The value in Harry's books is immeasurable. A lifetime of quality material for under a hundred bucks is a steal. Considering the publishing costs that authors are complaining about these days, prices of books are higher than they used to be. This is part of the reason many are putting out ebooks. Wesley James has recently stated that his new book coming out on the pass would have to be $150 dollars to make it worthwile- which is why instead, it will be a $60 e-book.

" I thank my lucky stars that Mr. Lorayne is taking the time and effort to provide the fraternity with wonderfully produced, expertly written, physical books filled to the brim with quality, usable card magic that we can cherish for the rest of our lives and pass on to our children. This is not something to take for granted, but something to be appreciated.

"I hope I can just reach Mr. Lorayne's age one day, let alone author top notch books. Harry Lorayne's books are a steal. and for those who want magic to be easily accessible and dirt cheap, well, maybe that's a good thing for the rest of us who prize this material and enjoy the exclusivity your marginalization provides us.

"Keep writing Harry, and do us a favour, raise the price a little next time to keep this gold away from those who put a $6 pricetag on a lifetime of miracles."
