I had a bunch of spare jokers laying around -- actually have a huge stack of them, leftovers from so many packs of cards this past year.  And I figured out a way to use them. I was inspired by a marketed gimmicked deck to make the following.

EFFECT: Spectator names any card and the performer pulls out the deck and goes through the deck and reveals two jokers. The performer then reveals the jokers have a prediction written on backs of cards.  The prediction matches their chosen card.

PRESENTATION: I say something like, "Name any card in the deck" and allow them to change mind.  Then something like, "Check this out" while pulling cards out of box.  "I'm going to go through these cards here and you are going to notice a couple stand out".  It's then revealed the little joker (non-colored) and the big joker (colored) are only two cards which are face up.  "You know what they say about Jokers right?  Jokers are wild. They can be any card you need them to be.  And right now we need them to be <so and so card>. " I then say, "Well I have to tell you something <insert_name_here>, before this began I wrote down a prediction on the backs of these two jokers" and then I reveal the prediction and it is their chosen card.

Nice thinking on developing a new trick. When do they go on the market so I can buy one? [smile]

Fantastic. I collect jokers too so it’s good to see there is real use for them!

Wonderful!

And very generous of you to share this great idea. Thanks a lot!

How about applying roughing fluid to the backs of the Jokers as well? So that you could turn over the deck, spread it and show casually the face of the deck, or even that all cards are blank!
