I sort of went down a rabbit hole after an email today... looked up Irving Quant's Carousel on Vanishing and found other stuff that referenced his "Distribution Technique" which is included on a download called "Quantum Mechanics".

How cool is it to have a last name you can leverage like that??

Anyway… the videos look great -- from Dan & Dave originally, and just wondering if anyone has any experience or comments to make about the "Distribution Technique"?

Thanks!

I am familiar with the technique and I can tell you that it is diabolical.  It is based upon a couple of totally unrelated moves or techniques combined to make for a very interesting result.

This is total sleight of hand, nothing extra and nothing unusual involved, just a straight deck.

What you will need to do is practice, a lot, until you can get it done smoothly.  The move could be described as Knacky, but once learned and the proper angles observed, it is very effective.

Never ceases to amaze me how many new sleights continue to be developed.  You'd think we would have exhausted the number of moves possible with a pack of cards, but happily, we haven't.

Irving did join us once for a Saturday Session here on the forum a year or so ago, I think on the invitation of Trini Montes. I remember sitting just watching in awe as Trini, Mike Powers and Irving deconstructed the Elmsley Count, then re-built it into a thing of beauty.

Is that one recorded?  Sounds like a must-see.

I ended up buying Carousel from Vanishing ($7) … not sorry I did. Clever thinking. Wish I had that talent!

Would also like to see that Saturday Session video.

I don’t have a recording. I think there were technical difficulties.
