I started out in magic with books. So I like those because you can find what you need without searching and rewinding. I do have VHS (I think only magicians still have VHS machines or Beta) and DVD's but more books to curl up with.

In most arts we learn the basic techniques/principles and draw inspiration from those who have come before us, having done so we then begin to create anew... in the previous quote Derren was referring to our creativity and originality in performing magic, or lack of it.

Books all the way. Not a big fan of videos.

While i have 250+ physical books in my library, i don't think videos are evil/inferior... I love it all!
