What is the best wax to get to make cards stick together.  Asi Wind uses wax on cards for Tamed Card and Out of the Blue.  So does Woody Aragon with his "The Blushing Card".

Looking for something which is really good and perhaps costs less than $8.   Rather not get one especially made for magic use since those are usually overpriced.

Perhaps a wax which sticks well but comes apart easy enough and doesn't make noise when separating.

Have you tried Chap Stick?

Edit: Note to self, don't suggest trying something until you've tried it yourself. I just did and it failed miserably!

So don't try Chap Stick.

Also, don't discount double-sided tape for some applications. If you do use it, remember to burnish it and remove a bit of the tack. That will help with separating the cards silently.

I saw a Woody lecture and he specifies that he uses the ear plugs sold at pharmacy stores that are made of wax.  Granted that lecture was a while back and since I prefer foam earplugs, I haven't noticed if those are still regularly sold, but surely there are some on Amazon as well.

I saw that too in "The Show" the other day.  I looked on amazon and was all silicone ear plugs.  His earplugs are from Spain.. i have no clue what the equivalent would be here in teh USA.  So I just bought the wax Michael B recommended above.  I'll see soon 😉

Late to the party but I have had great results with the dental wax used for braces, which can be found for a dollar or two at most pharmacies.

The only wax I ever used, I got from the late Karl Norman.  I don't truly know how it compares to any other wax, but I know he was very successful with it.  It worked for me when I needed it.

I've also used the Tack Pads from my friend Antony Gerard.  They are very strong adhesion, and also come apart easily.  Maybe it depends on what exactly what you plan to do with the wax.
I am not familiar with the routines you mentioned, so, this is just sticky things that I know of.

So this isn't wax, but rather a type of glue.

https://smile.amazon.com/Zig-MSB30M1P-Memory-System-Carded/dp/B006ODUQIS/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=2+way+glue&qid=1598366573&sr=8-2

It kinda has two different applications based on how long you let the glue sit. It has a wet bond which is permanent and a dry bond which is temporary. If you want it permanent then you add whatever you are gluing onto it right away, if you want it to be temporary, you let the glue dry and then add on whatever you want to stick to it. I got it after reading Anthony Owen's book Secrets and have found it to be a pretty neat tool.

Did you end up getting that bees wax and if so, is it working out okay?

I got the wax Michael B mentioned. I tried it out.  I dunno.. doesn't seem very sticky.  I guess i'll have to play with it.

I've always used the wax that came with Michael Ammar's card on ceiling. It was a sizeable tub but seems to be out of stock in the few placed I just looked.

That being said, I've been curious about this stuff. Propdog usually makes quality stuff from what I've heard. https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic-accessories/card-on-ceiling-wax/

Cody Fisher also has his version of a "repositional" stick of some sorts. I've been considering picking up a stick for a while but 25 bucks seems a bit high. Then again he has done all the homework for us I suppose. For your consideration. https://www.codyfisher.com/product-page/magic-card-wand

If anyone has any experience with either of these I wuold love to hear your thoughts.

Another product that works very well is Zig 2 Way Glue.

Just search for "Zig 2-way glue pen", and you'll find it readily available.
