That link leads to an Amazon page for a 12 pack of Bicycles at $15.98, eligible for Prime. That's actually $1.33 a deck. Hm. Not bad reviews either. A couple of complaints about bad cards, but over all not too bad.

With Tax its approximately $1.43 per deck. It would have been better for you to have considered the whole cost, before contradicting me. Or just say thank you, for me investing my time posting.

??? Senor, I don't think Anthony was contradicting you, simply adding further information for those that hadn't clicked on the link.  Occasionally you can get similar priced deals at Sam's Club or Costco if you live near one.  But always worth knowing when their are card bargains about, thanks for posting.

I'd ask that you not be so quick to judge.

I intended to neither contradict nor correct you, but rather to reinforce and amplify the deal. Period. End of story. Prices change on Amazon all the time. From my perspective it appeared that there might have been a reduction since you posted. That being the case it seem natural to announce the even better deal. Get 'em while they're hot and all. Now, if you go back and read my post with that in mind, I think you might find it less contentious than you imagined.

Wow, that went from 0 to duel very quickly.

I've ordered the 12-packs from Amazon a few times and have never had a bad batch. If you keep an eye on them, the price fluctuates. I've seen them marked down as low as $10.99.

Your welcome Paul

It's mostly my pleasure to help, my fellow magicians.

No duel here! Only a minor misunderstanding.

I don't know how it works, but there have been a few times I've looked very seriously at something on Amazon, and a couple days later got an email with a decent price reduction... so for something that's not a limited quantity, and you don't need it 'NOW' … maybe take a look at it, and let it for and see what Amazon comes up with 😉

For Chrome and Firefox, there's a browser extension called The Camelizer that allows you to view historical pricing data for items on Amazon, and even set email alerts for the next time a given item drops below a price you choose. Handy!

I have purchased several of these bricks over the last year and the quality has been fine. They are the "standard" edition with the standard edition boxes (half red and half blue).

Have you worked with those decks?  I'm always quite wary of decks like that because they just don't look like they'll faro or handle very well.  For instance, I have a couple of decks of Cartamundi's Black Jack, and they do not fan or faro well at all.

The reason those you spoke of don't faro well is likely because they are laser cut. Are the edges smoother than Bikes? Laser cut cards have perfectly square edges, no taper, which helps faros. I mean the taper helps.

I have NOT worked with the Royal Casino decks so your concerns, may be valid?

I always enjoy reading threads such as these--–the price, quality, brand, availability and what not of cards. But beyond interest the information is of no use to me at all.

Renegade that I am, I have only ever used bridge size cards.

Jerry was a member of our local independent magic club here in Portland...funny how so many magicians would watch him perform without noticing he was using a bridge sized deck. Laymen could care less what size/brand of cards he used...Jerry was so endearing and had such wonderful card effects that it just didn't matter. He was truly a unique fellow.

Waterman, I got to attend a lecture Jerry gave in St. Louis. It was around 1978 plus or minus. He was so fun to watch and meet. I'm sure you know that all of his effects were original to him and that he said he never read a magic book. His genius was certainly unique.

Oh yes, and Jerry NEVER LIED.   He would never say something like, "Now, your card is lost in the deck," because he knew EXACTLY where it was.  He'd say something like, "your card is now somewhere in the deck."

Think about that when structuring your patter for your next effect.
