I'm hoping that he won't mind my doing this, but I feel it is high time for the "Who's Who" section of the forum to have an entry for Mr. Bob Farmer.

Many know Bob from his frequent comments to threads or threads about his creations, but might not know anything about his "day job".

I had read bits and pieces, but I found this article which I felt was worth sharing.

http://alumni2.westernu.ca/fam/western-law/2015/thats-entertainment.html

The write-up is quite flattering and deservedly so.

Bob's contributions to magic are exceptional.  Published reviews are generally 5 stars all the way.  And reading Bob's advertising is a hoot.

I think Bob's magic word must be "Bammo!"

So now you know a little more about Mr. Farmer.  If you haven't, check out the many items he has marketed, tricks and books.

His work on the 10 Card Poker Deal in 'The Bammo Ten Card Deal Dossier' is the last word, or was before his updated work which I believe is in the process of being released.

Anyone wanting to know more about the premise, the history and the variations can find it all in one volume.  It is an exhaustive study.

Thought you should know!

That's the other Bob Farmer.

Incidentally, check out the February Genii for an ad for the new edition of The Bammo Ten Card Deal Dossier.

I was introduced to Mr. Farmer's magic when I purchased his, "Bammo Card Walloper" (version 1)...I have used this deck at conventions during late night sessions and am always impressed with the reactions it gets!

He desreves a place in the "Who's Who" for just this effect alone!

I’m a huge, huge fan of his Okito box effect, ”Mojo Boogie Boxes.” I perform midway it during card set. It’s a nice change of pace, and , it allows me to ring in a stacked deck for my finale!

I am very pleased that many have responded to the thread, including the man himself.  When I read the article, I knew I had to share it.  Some of the newbies on here might have seen some of his tricks but not made the connection.
If you own any of Mr. Farmer's creations, what a cool thing it is to have him here so that you can share your successes or if you have questions, get feedback from the originator.  Priceless.

I see your email address, Mister Farmer, but in the meanwhile...

Any chance of a few details here, for those waifs and strays among us who can't afford luxury items like Genii subscriptions.

$9.30 is for Priority Mail 1-Day and includes as I understand it, the book, the DVD and the addendum booklet.

That's the charge for just the addendum. I double checked.

It might also be the charge for everything. I dunno.

Yeah I was kinda surprised the cheapest shipping was 2-day.

I'll also say that I got email from them saying that the artwork and other DVD work won't be done for a week or 2

The shipping charge will be fixed and the much cheaper media mail cost will be substituted. Just a little glitch I'm fixing right now.

And here's the Genii ad attached.

When Martin Gardner passed away, a friend of mine (amateur card magician) told me:
"one of the greatest amateur magician has died; a terrible lost."
My first reply was:
"Well, at least we still have Robert Farmer; the new greatest amateur magician."

I wish you a long life, Mr. Farmer, as much as Mr. Gardner, or more...
