So my company may be sending me to Las Vegas for a conference in the beginning of March. All my life I wanted to see the Castle. Not easy for an east coast boy to get out there. Do we have any members that could invite me in? I would just about die if I was that close and missed the chance of a lifetime. Dates I should be out there would be March 6th to the 10th or there about.

Thanks,
Kingman

If you subscribe to Genii Magazine you can visit the Castle. While I have never had the opportunity myself, I have read that the process is simple. Details here http://www.wildabouthoudini.com/2013/08/genii-and-magic-castle-reunite-in-new.html

Thanks, but that article is now 5 years old and it states the opposite, it says that Magic Castle members get a free subscription to the electronic version of the magazine. Not that subscribers get into the Castle. From the Castle website, it takes an invite or membership to get in.
From the Castle’s page:
You must be a member or have a guest card from a member to gain admittance.

Thanks,
Kingman

I visited the castle about a year ago, and got a pass with my SAM membership.  They are pretty flexible.  But with many passes, you have to buy dinner in the dining room which is a bit on the pricy side (but still nice).  A member can get you a members pass, which doesn't require dinner.

Apologies for the old article. Just spoke with Richard Kaufman and he assures me the offer through Genii is still valid. He advised calling the Castle and making a reservation. Tell them you are a subscriber. They, in turn, are to call the Genii offices and verify memberships. There is a requirement to buy dinner.  Richard says if there's a problem, call back after today when Margret will be back in the office.

Well, if all I have to do is subscribe to get an annual visit, guess it will be worth it. I have been wanting to get The Vernon Touch book anyways. 😉 Will confirm and then do it!

Conference is March 7th through the 9th. Probably arrive on the 6th and leave on the 10th. Still not confirmed 100% yet, but those are the dates

I should plan a visit down there to visit Steve Christian, Cardshark Quixote, and Howard Hamburg. March sounds like a good time of the year!

Maybe we could get some other members of the Magician's Forum to join us? It could be the beginning of something big?

I went last year and got in with my SAM card. I did need to make a reservation and buy dinner, but my wife and I got in with no cover charge and I was told by the doorman to bypass the line.

Spent a lot of time waiting in line for shows, but loved all the performances. My favorites were armando lucero in the close up room and Pop Hayden in the WC Fields bar. We arrived within 15 minutes of them opening and stayed until the last. You might want to consider staying at the Magic Castle Hotel next door - we did not have far to go when we left in the wee hours of the morning.
Have Fun.
