I am looking for a method to do a DD with just business cards only. I am doing Riggs Business Card Business from the book Fat-Free Mentalism.

Also, I have a Outlaw wallet but I am looking just to use the cards only.

What can you suggest?

Rick,

Rick, Dan Harlan put out a good one years ago ... "The All Seeing Eye" or something like that. Pretty good DD.
Also, Max Maven has a good  (though I cannot recall the name right now).
And Scott Alexander has a really interesting center tear which would work well for a DD.
Finally, my "Drawing on Emotion" (from Influence-Enza) can easily be adapted to business cards, though it was originally developed for parlor work.

Thanks for the info!

Is your method an e-book? or a PDF? How much is it?

Memory serves me that Dan Harlan does indeed have a good DD, i'll look into it..

The only thing I don't like about the Riggs DD is the Classic Pass with the cards while putting the target card in the middle of the pack. It handles like a deck of cards.

Thanks...

Rick

Ian Rowland has a No Method DD in an old set of lecture notes. It depends what sort of effect you are looking for I guess. Is it a direct DD? And what is the premise? Are you working along the lines of telepathy, mind-to-mind communication, a subliminal/advertising premise?

Getting on for twenty years ago I created a cool idea using three business cards. But with a single card you could use the window principle in a pay envelope, a blank stack of business cards and a double-lift, the shiner principle etc etc. there are tons of ways of doing a DD.

Annemman's Practical Mental Effects and Corrindas 13-Steps will also give you plenty of ideas, and Richard Busch has some great ideas in his books.

Hi Rick ...

The effect is in my ebook Influence-Enza. I’ve been using it for years. In fact, the volunteer doesn’t even have to draw anything themselves — they can just think of an image — but having their drawing to compare to yours is admittedly more dramatic.

You can check out the book here https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/12078

I have been offering a 20% discount to all Forum members if they order directly through me. Just PayPal $16 to me at mbreggarmagic@gmail.com and I’ll send the book to you right away!

By the way, the Harlan effect is called “All Seeing Eye” sand is now a download for $10.

But for just $6 more, you get a dozen more mental effects written by a Pulizer Prize losing author!! And you’ll make me happy.

Thanks so much!

Mark Strivings' "Symbol Minded" is a business card version of Annemann's Extra Sensory Perception. Not a true drawing duplication but works really well.

Drawing dupes with business cards only can be found from:

Banachek
Patrik Kuffs
Danny Archer

I am sure there are others. Looch comes to mind also, but can't remember exactly.

If you add a handkerchief, there's J.G. Thompson Jr.'s "Impromptu Vision" from The Jinx. Although adding a handkerchief might be asking a lot in 2020. Could be a napkin you grab off a nearby table...

I don't see how a napkin or handkerchief would come into play here..can you tell me more without exposing the trick..

thanks,

Their drawing on a business card is held facing away from you and wrapped in a handkerchief, which is tucked into your pocket. By the time it's in your pocket, you're set to duplicate it on another card. Think of old coin through handkerchief moves and you're on the right track.

I'm sure some of the more contemporary suggestions are better suited to today's performers. Just thought I'd mention it.

Danny Archer's drawing duplication has been my go to business card effect. You can find that and another business card effect on his At the Table lecture.

I got the download a few weeks ago, and I really like the above routine Drawing On Emotion but I am going to use it for a past-life regression routine. Also, there is a three phase ESP card routine on the e-book that looks pretty good, so I'll be checking it out.

If the rest of the e-book is good as the Drawing On Emotion & the three phase ESP card routine, this e-book would be a great buy!

Rick-

Thanks Rick for the kind words!

The fact that you get to see my lovely face alone makes the book a great buy!!!!
(Or, the stuff of nightmares...)
