Hi Jack

That's a very nice application of the principle.  I can't help you with its official name, but I do know that Banachek puts it to use in a Russian Roulette routine.  It's not unrelated to the Automatic Placement principle, often attributed to Marlo but (according to Stephen Minch) actually dating back to the 18th century.

Also check out Sam-Ultaneous from Mr. Lorayne's Close Up Card Magic.  It uses a mathematical principle and uses two spectators to create a stunning "coincidence".

Jack, thanks for describing this, I think it works well, don't go back to digging ditches.

I see you are using a kind of Lie Detector to reveal the last card. I was thinking you could also do a Stop type effect once the correct number of cards have been counted off.
