Hello,

I've always been a card guy... but I'm looking to branch out a bit this year. Whenever I learn a new effect with coins or something I never perform them because I always have cards with me, and I feel comfortable with the cards...

So this year I'm planning to leave the cards at home more often.

Can anyone recommend any sources for fairly simple tricks using common objects, something to get me started and building up my confidence with these props.

Thanks,

Sam

The Mark Wilson Course contains lots of possibilities. And it's relatively inexpensive.

Ammar has DVDs on paper money magic and business cards. Worthwhile stuff on both of them.

AV, this was one of my firsts "big purchases" in magic when I was a kid.  I was so excited to order it after drooling over it in an ad that I had seen.

You could order just the book or a kit which included the book, a close up pad and some props.  I ordered the book alone because I couldn't afford the additional props.

It was a great book then and it still is a great resource for the beginner especially.
