Gentlemen,
I am starting this thread to let our members know that I have just ordered my copy of Perverse Magic.
I have been following the Perverse Magic Thread for many years . I absolutely love the magic.
My magic journey started many years ago with kitchen magic, to shop props, to advanced coin magic, close up sleight of hand, manipulation, and eventually close up card magic.
Card magic is my passion but I always wished I could utilise my sleight of hand abilities with small objects in an entertaining way- more than just a vanish of a coin and less than a seated performance of Roth's WildCoin.
Enter Perverse Magic.
Mr. Deutsch's routines are simple, fooling, and fun.
He provides the sleight of hand artist countless opportunities and scenarios to display his talents to amaze regular people in everyday situations.
He has done so much thinking over the years and written it in Perverse Magic.
Do you find yourself stuck just doing a French Drop or making something appear when a magic opportunity presents itself? With Perverse Magic you will be prepared in every situation, any time, with anything- for a fun to watch, engaging, simple, magical miracle that can absolutely stand on its own.
I highly recommend Perverse Magic by Gerald Deutsch.
Almost 500 pages of rock solid close up miracles in everyday situations that you will use in every day scenarios.
I have been waiting for this book for many years and now it is available.
Wanna know the best part? All of the proceeds go to charity.
Get this book.

I’ll be buying this too. I love Gerald’s approach to magic! Plus he’s a great guy. The fact that the proceeds go to charity doesn’t surprise me one bit.

I’m wishing him much success with it. He deserves it.

Rudy

Mine just arrived! What a beautiful hardcover this is!
This book is a MUST on every magician's shelf.
You all remember the reputation the Gardner Impromptu Magic Book had before the internet?
I'm starting to feel the same about this book.
Wow.

I am not familiar with the author ...  But I like helping charities out now and then...

Two questions...

A) Are the tricks easy enough a klutz like me can pull them off.
B) I tend to love the comedy aspect of magic more then the serious side ... It falls there, True?

Would someone be able to post a picture of the book? This sounds like an interesting read.

I just ordered my copy...

I need another magic book like I need a hole in the head, but it sounds too good to resist.

Plus it serves a good cause.

I have to laugh...

I just had a friend come to me after he lost his job b/c of a similar issue. You have to be very careful with what you say and do because IF it can be misconstrued... IT WILL BE. Even more so in text you'd don't have any tonality. Again to be clear ...  I WAS JOKING.  I had no idea what a big bag of crap I just unleashed being a moron.  There I said it....  I AM A MORON.  There is nothing else to read in to it, other then I made a stupid mistake.

In this situation I didn't do myself any favors being too "familiar" as you will.   To be clear.  I don't have reason to question Rudy's morality or ethics ... In fact the opposite is true as I recognize I am sitting at his table so to speak. I don't know Jerry but I hope to learn a little about him, which is why I bought the book. I was being flip and too casual in my responses. I made a mistake and I said I was sorry and I whole heartedly meant it.

I honestly don't know where else to go with this...

PS It looks like someone had a heart and pulled my offending post before I became a total social pariah...   LOL  Thanks.

I got my copy yesterday....

I did NOT have time to look at it but I will say that having glanced over it ...

It is a impressive volume of work done by someone who obviously has great love for the art of magic.
