Greetings from England.  I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Philip Brown and I live in the south west of England about 15 miles from the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge.
Like many others, I first got interested in magic at around the age of 9 and performed my first little show at school a year later, which was about 50 years ago.  I have been hooked ever since!

I have never worked as a full-time professional but have been very fortunate to work in a number of positions in various countries around the world and for a time in my 20s and 30s performed an after dinner show.  I have always found magic to be a great 'ice-breaker' when meeting individuals or groups of people for the first time.

I would describe my magical interests as eclectic; as well as stand up/parlour magic, I enjoy performing close up and have spent many years studying mentalism.  I also enjoy reading and researching the history of our wonderful art.

During Covid 19 lockdown I have taken the opportunity to reread some of the books in my magic library and have enjoyed dipping into Tarbell and Greater Magic again.  I am currently taking some on-line courses to try and polish up my slight of hand which has never been a strong point!

I very much look forward to getting to know you all.

With best wishes,

Philip

Welcome Phillip. Your start at age 9 is like how most of us got started. Hooked as a child and never let it go.
You will enjoy this Forum, many friendly people here.

Welcome Philip. You'll have fun here.

Stonehenge eh? What's the weather like. Oop North at the moment it's absolutely hissing it down. Typical English Summer. You can hear the grass grow.

Welcome - My first visit to Stonehenge it was pouring rain. We took a bus trip up to see it and I was the only one that got off the bus to look because of the torrent. I couldn't talk for the next 3 days (this is not good because I was there to do training classes for Ford Motor Company LOL). One of my memories of many wonderful trips to GB. Also love a lot of the great magic coming out of your country. Feel free to ask questions, share, and have fun.

Thank you Alan and Marv,

Its raining here too Alan.

Stonehenge is 'closed' to visitors at the moment due to the current situation so no activity for the summer solstice this year.
