OK, this is a pretty stupid question. I have several close-up tricks that I woud like to perform which would require me to have an opaque handkerchief. I am just talking about a normal white men's handkerchief. Unfortunately, the stores I have here locally all seem to carry only a couple of brands and they are far from truly opaque. So, could someone recccomend a brand of handkerchief that I could perhaps purchase on Amazon or somewhere? When I look at online advertisements for handkerchiefs, I can't find a way to figure out how opaque they are. Thanks

Perhaps restaurant napkins? Big size, opaque but a little bit on the stiff side

That has been a problem Bill, finding a proper handkerchief.  One way to overcome it is to go to a fabric store and find a suitable material and have it cut-to-size and hemmed.  A sewing machine makes it relatively simple.  My mother-in-law did some up for me many years ago and they turned out quite nicely.  By the way, I ended up going with a rayon material, not cotton or linen.

Good idea.  They will be a bit bulky, but certainly opaque.

My Glorpy is opaque. If you use one of those, you have another gimmick/effect ready to go.

i'v never had an problems in this area. True enough opaque handkerchiefs are not as common, but there still seems to be enough here and there in the UK.

With Christmas not yet cancelled, Socks and Hankies should be in plentiful supply as the next couple of months roll on.
