Does anyone have any experiences with Inject 2 by Greg Rostami? If so, what did you think of it, and what were your impressions - what are the good things and bad things about it?

I'm considering picking it up, but it is very pricey.

I've only messed with it a bit to try out the easiest effect.

It works very well and, because the spectator is using her own phone, is very baffling indeed.

You get a link to a page that appears to be google. You'll have your own unique number to add to

You borrow a spec's phone and claim to be locating the google image page. You type in where xxxx is your personal code.

The spec will see a page that looks exactly like what you described. It shows GOOGLE and has links to ALL    IMAGES    MAPS     YOUTUBE

She types in the name of an animal, say panda, and hits the search icon getting a load of photos. You get a message on your phone or Apple watch that says PANDA.

That's just one of many things it can do. There are also accessories e.g. a thumper and others.

It's cool!

I'm sure it's cool, as Greg is a clever guy.  For me personally, not interested in "phone effects."

Can we remove the web link here please? It’s showing up in google results and we don’t want that to happen when associated with the inject name. Thanks!

This effect was used by a Seattle magician named Nicholas Byers in combination with The Stranger in a show I hosted last month and it worked very well and the audience was just floored by it.

We've discussed technology and magic and specifically effects with phone apps here.  To me, the only way I can see it being effective is if you can do it on THEIR phone, which is the case with this effect.

You can't argue with success and if the audience is floored, that is good enough for me.

And here is what I observed watching from the wings of the audience....shortly after that trick was over, the guy whose phone had been used looked at his phone and then showed his buddy something on it and they both had this look of “ah ha”. So my guess is he found the Inject URL. But that was after the trick had already played out and was successful. And the rest of the audience was unaware.

The trick played really well and I think part of it is it uses the 2 things on the phone that have become the most mundane to us, phone calls and google searches.

Thanks for the extra follow-up.  Interesting.  Glad you noticed the conversation.  I presume there is no way to easily remove the URL.  You'd have to go into their search history and delete it and you certainly wouldn't want to do that for a number of reasons.

The hyperlink. That’s the part that needs to be removed. :)

You got one of the two! Thanks for jumping on this for us!

By the way, I was trying not to spell out the exact link because then I would have to remove my own comment. Ha ha

When you subscribe to Reel magic magazine, you can buy it at almost half price.
I work with in***ct more than 2 years and you can do wonderful things with it.
However, it has only its full potential when you have a little experience with Photoshop or something likewise and when you have a little experience with constructing a web page.
Then the possibilities are only restricted by your own fantasy.
