Hi Everyone,

My name is Joe and I'm excited to join the Magician's Forum. I've been able to attend some of the Saturday Sessions which have been awesome and I really enjoyed. I'm looking forward to the Live session next week

I started practicing magic when I was much younger. During High School, my brother's friend, who was a professional magician, started me on my path to close-up magic and sleight of hand. I joined the young magician's SAM Explorer's Post in Palo Alto, where our highlight was a trip to the Magic Castle in 1986. The president of the Explorers was Michael Stroud, who I believe is still a professional magician in the Bay Area.

College, career, and family moved to the forefront of my life and magic to the back burner.
Now that I have some free time, I've been able to start practicing and enjoying magic again. I really enjoy close-up magic and some of my favorite magicians include Dai Vernon, Micheal Ammar, Tommy Wonder, and Simon Aronson.

Over the years, all the magician's that I've met had been so generous and friendly. I look forward to continue learning and hopefully I can contribute when I can.

Cheers

Joe

Welcome, Joe!  Many years ago I spent a year living near you in Venice Beach (right in the middle of all the craziness).

I share your enthusiasm for Dai Vernon, Michael Ammar and Tommy Wonder, along with Harry Lorayne, Al Leech, Paul Harris, Frank Garcia, Slydini, etc.

Looking forward to many magic conversations!

Arthur

Hey Greg

Nice to meet you. Not sure if you ever went to Foxy's restaurant at the Lancaster airport?
good diner with views to the runway. I've flown into Fox field a bunch of times and usually get lunch there. Are you still in SoCal?

cheers

Joe

No I didn't know about it, but there are a number of neat local restaurants around the area. And no, I live up in Spokane, Washington now. I did have plans in March to go back down to LA buuut then the world shut down, so that trip will have to be rescheduled haha
