Hello. My name is Tony and I live in Toronto Canada. I'm 36 years old and am very new to magic.

When I was a kid back in the 80s, I had a "Merlin Magic Set" and never really took the time to understand or comprehend its full power. The set was thrown away when I was a teenager in the early 90s and not much thought was ever given to it again.

Fast forward a few decades and here I am more mature, more understanding and more willing to unleash the potential of this hobby.

My goals for 2017 are to start small. I want to learn how to make my sleights look natural. I am wanting to start with sponges and cups/balls to accomplish this.

I just purchased Michael Ammar's first DVD on cups and balls and will start to review its content this weekend. I have yet to purchase any physical items such as the sponges and cups/balls.

If you've read this far, thanks for following along. I'll be posting my updates as I learn and progress.

Hi Tony

Welcome to the Forum - this is a great place to look for advice, get honest and constructive feedback, and learn from some very talented and knowledgeable magicians.

Robin

PS A small group of magicians meets in Belleville on an occasional basis.  A couple of guys make the trip from Toronto.  You would be more than welcome.

Tony,

I was in my thirties when the magic bug bit me. Welcome! Many friendly and helpful members here.

Enjoy the ride!

The Belleville group doesn't have a regular schedule, but the next time there is a gathering (looking at you, Ian!) we'll let you know where and when!

All the best

Robin
