I'm marv long and I currently reside in Florida. Love magic and have been involved at some level for enough years to retire and I have. I owned a training company in Michigan and used magic in classes for mostly automotive management and engineering staff.

I do mostly (too many) cards but I enjoy all forms of close-up. I no longer do paid shows so my stand up is pretty well over.  As age creeps up I am unable to do some sleights as well as I used to so I'm always on the look out for easy methods that give the biggest impact.

Past history - I have published in several magazines - put out a few tricks (nothing major) - did a few lectures and even took first place at Columbus Magi-Fest Adult Close-up BJJ (Before Joshua Jay)

My main claim to fame is probably scripting. I love to find ways to help an effect make sense through the use of words and/or story.

I see there is some pretty heavy talent here along with some new blood to keep the creative juices flowing. Looking forward to magic-ing with all of you.

Thanks for the introduction, Marv!

I checked out your "Sticky Cards" effect in Apocalypse. It sounds great, but I can't get it to work. Do you still perform this? Any additional tips?

Rudy

Low humidity helps. The current version of this would be Tiny Plunger (Jon Armstrong)- better than the fingers I think.
I'm prouder of the fact that the previous issue back (I think) Harry stated that I "took him in". What greater honor than to have the master say I fooled him in print. Thanks Harry. That's one for me and a few hundred for you. [redface])

Welcome from Spain, Marv!
I read your very first post here in TMF, but I couldn't help, since I don't edit videos for lack of time.

Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments.

Paco I am amazed by all the fine magic coming out of Spain. Of course everyone knows the card work but I have been noticing all the sponge work as well. I like Yago and his glass and sponge routine. I don't know why he is not better known in the US.

Looking forward to chatting with you. I can't speak or write Spanish but I do know how to use Google Translate so we can work it out.

Marv, the "picaresque" (guile or wiliness) novel began in S. XVI in Spain plenty of wicked swindles and scammers characters [tongue]

Maybe that's the origin of the "good" magic in Spain [crazy]

Welcome Marv! I think it’s great that you’re always looking to compensate for any loss of function due to life’s ‘wear and tear’. We’re all on THAT continuum. I’m sure that’s when we surprise ourselves the most. I’m sure you’ll find some great friends here,.
