Guess the big question is, is it performable in the real world and not just on Youtube.

This. Of course, I'm old enough to remember when camera tricks were eschewed and magicians went out of their way to assure audiences on the other side of the screen that none were used.

Have posts been removed from this thread ?
I was sure Maigret posted a photo, or am I thinking of a similar thread on another site ?

Yes. Posts have been removed, probably by the poster. Not sure why. Wasn't the mods.

I've seen Horret's FISM act live at 4F from the front row. It looks incredible. I think the routine shown on the video is similar in that it can be done live to an audience that's not sitting too close. Sort of like Shin Lim's routine. I don't think it works for people sitting at the table with Henry. They're likely to see "something."

Acts/tricks like the one shown on the video are contest acts for use where the judges are watching video monitors and are sitting at some distance. Many, if not most, FISM acts are like this. No camera tricks, but a certain amount of "camouflage" is possible. Horret can do some incredible close up magic in the "real world" too. The practice ethic among Asian magicians is extremely high and it shows in their work. Amazing things are possible in the real world. And when you open the door for other techniques that work in the world of magic contests, even more amazing things are possible.

If you saw Horret do this routine live from the proper distance, I think it would blow your mind. His FISM act sure does.

Amazing!  Thanks for sharing this clip.

It looks like he's using the custom deck that was created to commemorate Horret Wu's 2015 FISM win.

It's the Cosmos deck, and was printed by the Taiwan Playing Card Company, and distributed by BombMagic.

Just for clarification, who is performing in the initial video - is it Harriet Wu or is it Shin Lim?

It is on Shin Lim's youtube channel, and he's entitled the video "Uncut Sleights // Horret Ace Assembly", so I suspect it's actually Shin Lim doing the performance here?

That's **Horret Wu performing. He and Shin are good friends in magic.

You're right.  It's obvious from the close-up table Harriet uses in the "Face Off" video that DJ just posted, which features Horret Wu and Shin Lim, that the performance in the original video is Horret Wu, not Shin Lim.

But because it's posted on Shin Lim's channel, unfortunately most of the comments on the youtube video praise Shin Lim for an amazing performance. Shin Lim could have done a better job of crediting Horret Wu at the start of the video and in its description.
