Hi Everyone,

Here's the ad for Harry's highly anticipated book, JawDroppers Two!! I can hardly wait to get my hands on it!

--------

(100% cards! — 98% impromptu!! — 94% jaw droppers!!!)

YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE
Harry Lorayne’s
Jaw Droppers Two

“If I leave a legacy at all, this may well be it! For over 75 years I’ve amazed people (for a living, and to feed my ego!) Now I’ve amazed myself with this (my last?) book. Amazed myself with these amazing effects/routines that will amaze you, too - and then you’ll amaze your audiences with any deck of cards for the rest of your amazing magical life! I’m pleased and amazed! You will be, too.”

Most of the over 80 items in this book are jaw droppers! Friends who exclaimed about JAWDROPPERS! 1 (sold out) - “This has got to be the VERY BEST book of card magic EVER!” – screamed about this book: “My gosh! You did it again, Harry. Amazing!!”

“I’m thrilled and glad I wasn’t dreaming when I heard that JAW DROPPERS TWO is coming!” (Brian Rudolph)

“Is a Harry Lorayne book worth twice its price? NO – it’s worth MANY TIMES its price! His Utility Mixer is a lifetime ‘dream’ item!! His S/H/F Killer effect alone (among others) is worth MANY times the price. Wow!” (P. Simmons)

“Always first class material, expertly written, expertly taught – one of the most influential magician/writer in history. Every Harry Lorayne book is filled to the brim with very strong commercial card magic!” (Magicfish)

Available ONLY directly from Harry (lower cost to you). Limited printing so order now:

In U.S.A., there are TWO ways to order/pay: Check or Money Order (definitely preferred and you save the PayPal charge) – $75.95 + $8.95 s/h – total $84.90: Payable to HARRY LORAYNE and mail to: HARRY LORAYNE, 48 LIBERTY STREET, NEWBURYPORT, MA 01950.

Or Via PayPal: Total - $87.90 and PayPal to harrylorayne@earthlink.net.

Autographed ONLY on request. Check other Lorayne stuff at harryloraynemagic.com.

Hi: Before the magazine ads appear - Order now to reserve and be sure of your copy. Please note the price difference for PayPal orders. Books will be mailed starting early or mid-September to later in September and into October.

I got mine too, Evan! You're going to love it!

By the way, I was absolutely thrilled to see a photo of me at Harry's 90th birthday party with Paul Gordon, Jon Racherbaumer and Mike Vincent! Wow!

Just received my inscribed copy. I opened the book at random and began work on the very first item I came across. It is Harry's version of Paul Gordon's (Gr)eight.
What a delightful and powerful piece of impromptu card magic this is.
I tried out a few other items...this book is goooood!

This book has my vote for book of the year. Hands down.
I am currently working through the book from front to back with cards in hand and I am thrilled with the material. For all you new Jawdroppers! Two (Too) owners, I encourage you to read the Foreword before you begin. It is a delightful lead in to this marvellous collection of magic and really sets the mood for what you are about to experience. It is so nice to hear Harry's "voice" again. He is as good a writer and as good a teacher as he has ever been- maybe better.
I will save my superlatives for when I have finished the book, but I have already added some items to my repertoire.
I must now pull the blinds, and immerse myself in this incredible collection.
I shall return.
Ps, the first item is fantastic!

Hi Magicfish,

I'm not sure if you saw it, but here is a video of me performing a few items from the book.

...Magicfish, you are right as almost ever. I am at item five or six and find this book already inspiring and fun to read. I also really like the first routine and I will it combine with John Bannons "Cross-Eyed Jacks", that was mentioned here on another thread, as a second phase, involving two spectators. Two of the effects involve spelling in English so I have to translate and to rework them but I really like the handlings too.

At first I felt it was overshadowed by JawDroppers. Now I've spent some time with it- quality time. This book is excellent. For those of you who missed out on JawDroppers, don't miss out on JawDroppers! Two.
This volume is loaded with strong, regular deck card magic.
As an aside, I believe it contains the best, sleight free, two card transposition I've ever come across.

I'd like to also highlight 'Just in Case' for anyone who might have overlooked it. Painfully strong, as in approaching 'if you do this trick you're going to have problems following it up' strong.

magicfish: Thanks for "them kind words" - they help make it all worthwhile!   The two-card transposition effect you refer to must be S/H/F Killer --- because a "killer" it is.

It is indeed sir.
I do it as you suggest by using your Angle Spread to remove a random card. Killer.

I posted about this effect elsewhere- somewhere. I don't recall when or where but I'm glad you are mentioning it. I loved it right away.

It's so simple in method, but almost ridiculously powerful in effect. I've been having fun closing card sets with this.

I've been experimenting with revealing the cards one at a time or as a ribbon spread turnover. Lot's of fun.

Hi guys. Just thought I'd share another JawDropper from this sublime collection called Magical Flight.
Magical it is. Think Ortiz' Beyond Sleight of Hand meets Fisher's Search and Destroy.
It is deadly.
I've added a convincer which helps me sell it better but learn it as it is and try it out.
Many magicians talk about the 'wife test' which never applies to me because my wife loves magic but dislikes card magic as a rule. When I showed her Magical Flight she said "but I thought the 4 of clubs was over th...oh...wow".
She was fried.
Another miracle from one of my all-time favourite books.

I think you and I have a lot of the same tastes Magicfish.  Have you tried out Twisted Appearance yet?  I've been having good fun with this on magicians and laypeople alike.

Hi Chi Han, sorry for the delay. I have not tried that one yet but tonight I learned Lost and Found, A Card to Remember, and Hail Halo. In Hail Halo, I have swapped out the first phase for Double Take from Quantum Leaps. For you Halo Acers out there, you simply MUST look at Hail Halo. It is a JawDropper to say the least and will instantly let your audience know that you are the real deal- a magical reputation maker, and as good an opener as any I know.
There is so much strong, usable, impromptu card magic in this book it is astounding.
Jaw Droppers Two is rivalling JawDroppers and Special Effects as an alltime time favourite card book. These books are worth far more than the cover price. Pure gold.

I now have this book too, and SUPER impressed.  A review of it is in the works, and will appear first on The Magician's Forum.

Congrats on making the book Rudy, the photos in the middle were one of the first places I looked, and I immediately recognized you in that one photo.  What an honour!

I just got my copy yesterday, along with Only my Apocalypse... and I still haven't gone through them. Can't wait to have some free time to get to read them and practice...

Rudy also made it on the dustjacket's back "flap" (the part of the dustjacket that folds inside the back of the book). There is a quote by him.

JawDroppers! And JawDroppers Two! just keep getting better. I am truly amazed every time I open them. It blows my mind that after a lifetime of creations and contributions to the art that have garnered him legendary status, he has written these two collections of some of the highest caliber, closeup card magic I have encountered. JawDroppers Two! Is LOADED cover to cover with strong card magic that you will actually use! Incredible value.
I have just studied Location Supreme Anytime and have applied the "on the fly" setup to Hail Halo. This is deadly, reputation making stuff.
But then he goes and gives us A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, Plus. What's a guy to do? What a great problem to have.
-Controlled Spelling Handling
-Utility Mixer
-Magical Flight
-A Card to Remember
- Just in Case
-Royal Spelling Slowly
-Controlled Peek
-Off the Rack 3 Piece Suit
-That's Fast (my new pet)
-S/H/F Killer
-Easy Prediction
And so many more that have become modern classics like Guess Quotient and so many more that I can't type them all.
Some may get sick of reading my praises for this collection. I can't help it.
