Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that this Saturday, January 27th at 1pm (Pacific), Jim Krenz will be giving an online lecture for the Magician's Forum!

Jim is an incredibly knowledgeable and talented magician who spent 15 years working for Jay and Francis Marshall at Magic Inc. He also regularly performed close-up at Schulien’s Restaurant in Chicago. Jim has studied with Ed Marlo, Jim Ryan, Tony Andruzzi, Don Alan, Eugene Burger, Slydini, Tommy Wonder and Juan Tamariz.

“When I was a child I was fascinated with the magical emotion that I felt upon watching magicians. I could not comprehend anything—what I would see was impossible; now I love to feel this emotion. It does not occur very often. Normally, I can see behind the curtain—I see the 'hidden' secrets and the mechanics. But from time to time a magician performs a trick, or several tricks that seem impossible—and the magical emotion returns. This happens to me with Jim Krenz (how wonderful!). For this, thank you Jim!” - Juan Tamariz

This is going to be a fantastic lecture! And for just $5.99, it's a great deal!

As usual, if you're not able to attend the LIVE lecture, it will be recorded so that you can watch it at your own convenience.

Please take a quick moment and register at the following link: https://goo.gl/f9Qwh8

I'll continue to try and provide us with quality lectures, as long as I see that their is a real interest in having them.

See you Saturday...

Rudy

I already registered but unfortunately I won't be able to watch it live because I will be celebrating "Magician's Day" by giving a small workshop (3 Classics) with some magician friends. Here in Mexico we celebrate magician's day on January 31st (Don Bosco's date of death) but since it is a weekday this year, we decided to celebrate the previous weekend which is when we can meet.

I will enjoy the lecture when I get home.

Thanks Jim and Rudy!

By the way, I will teach my new "Buried Ambition" move and my new Oil & Water phase (which has been getting raves from my students at Ana Tamariz' school) in my lecture today/tonight!

I just did a test call with Jim and everything worked great!

He's going to be debuting and teaching us a new triumph routine. I also asked him if he'd share some of his thoughts on the memorized deck and he said that he would.

Sounds like we're in for a great lecture!

Rudy

Oil and water phase? Triumph?

That sounds interesting!

I'll have to hurry back home to watch this lecture!

I'll be busy with that workshop while you are enjoying Jim's lecture. It is a good thing it will be recorded... but it is always nice to watch it live...

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to those who attended Jim's lecture. He did an excellent job and gave us far more than our money's worth. The triumph routine (new and unpublished) was worth the price of the lecture by itself.

Here's the link to the video recording...

If it doesn't work, please send me the emails address that you use to log into your Youtube account.

I also want to make sure that you know how to purchase some of the items mentioned at the lecture...

Jim's online store can be found by following this link: http://magicnexus.com/store/

The discount code for the members of our forum is: ThanksMagiciansForum (good for the next week, then it expires, usable once per person)

You can also purchase some of Jim's magic at Vanishing Inc. (or any well stocked magic store):

The e-mail for technical questions: Jim@MagicNexus.com and you can sign up for Jim's newsletter at http://magicnexus.com/newsletter/

Thanks again, Jim!!

Rudy

I hope you enjoy the recording @Axel

@Rudy — Thank you again for your help, and for making this possible! When you have a chance, I'd like to get access to the recording, as I'd like to see how it came out.

And what a treat to see Allan Ackerman!

Thanks all!

Jim

Hi Jim,

You should be able to view the video.

Can you send me a PM with the email address that you use to log into your Youtube account?

Excellent lecture, Jim! Lots of great ideas and plenty of inspiration - Without a doubt worth twice the price of admission!

Coincidencia struck a chord with me and I want to give it a try. Fortunately my wife is all artsy-craftsy, so we have lots of precision cutting tools, including a beautiful cutting board with a nice sharp blade. ::SNICK!:: I am going to make up a set using regular 808s, and if it turns out I enjoy the effect as much as I think, I'll be ordering a deck of parlor-size Phoenix cards soon enough.

Thanks to everyone involved in making the lecture happen!

Rudy, you'd asked for suggestions for future lecturers: Someone - and I cannot recall who - recently suggested John G. I think he'd be a great choice if he's interested.

Agree with Anthony, great lecture.  Nice variety of effects, one of the few lectures I've watched straight through.

Jim, it was a great lecture! And Victorious Triumph... wow!

I got the pen you showed and actually I have the other the perfect pen that John Cornelius presented a few years later after the other pen.

I think there are quite a few workers in this lecture that I will be using.

Thanks Jim and Rudy!

Sorry that I missed the lecture live, but will catch up on Youtube. I have no other reason than "life" happened.

I'll just pretend that it's 1/27 again.

Great lecture, Jim! This is what talent along with a lot of practice looks like.

Thanks to you, Rudy for booking this lecture, I enjoyed it a lot. Wonderful material!

Thanks to Rudy for the Krenz lecture. Coincidentally it is worth a lot more than the cost of the lecture. Sure you get all the information to make your own deck but why not support Jim and buy the effect and deck from Vanishing Inc. I just bought mine

Despite Jim's admonition during the lecture, I ordered one from Vanishing Inc myself. I played around with my wife's arts and crafts tools and could've cut my own, but since the Phoenix Parlor Deck was $20.00 by itself, and factoring in the work... Yeah, sometimes it's just more prudent to spend a little extra and save yourself some aggravation! That's time saved that I can use to practice.

Thank you for your investment Anthony!

Just to clarify my comments during the lecture: I am grateful for each and every purchase of my products. I certainly don't want to discourage anyone from buying them.

I also want to encourage magicians to get their hands dirty if they feel like making one of my effects by hand. Making your own props is an exciting thing to do, and it can lead to the creation of your own unique ideas.

Either way, enjoy the journey!

Hey, Jim,

I should've used a "wink" emoticon with that comment - I found your remarks humorous rather than autocratic. Apologies if it sounded otherwise! I did make up a set using Poker Size cards, and while it wasn't too difficult, it was time-consuming and exacting. I would much prefer to focus on presentation instead of preparation!

I decided I'd cut up a Bike poker deck to make Jim's Coincidencia  effect.  Forty cards cut and only a few usable. Needless to say ordered it this morning.

Tom: I hope the experience was good. Making up your own props is educational, even if the result is deciding to buy a finished version.

No Jim it wasn't... running out of ideas I went for plan C which was a big Xacto knife.  Buying the set is much safer, although not a fan of Phoenix decks, it's a much safer (for me) option.  It arrived yesterday.

Hi Jim,

to my shame I have to admit that I have only found the time to watch about the first 45 minutes but I really enjoyed it so far...your card material anyway but I just have seen your Coins Across... I´m not really a coin guy and personally I am not too overwhelmed by the HCP-Move (or is it the Gallo-Pitch (?)) used in most routines (not overwhelmed because I think I can´t deceive anyone with it...)...but your routine looked really good the one time I watched it and I am agog to see your handling! Your cardwork goes without saying...so, I am really looking forward to watch and enjoy the remaining 2 hours of your lecture. Again, thank you for doing it!
