I loved this guy the first time he appeared on Fool Us. This is his second appearance, and I think he's terrific. This routine is brilliant! Enjoy and comment. (Not on the method, but rather on the act.)

I normally dislike “counting cards” tricks, but this was terrific!  And very entertaining too.

Yes. This is a masterclass in how "counting cards" tricks should be presented. Entertaining, never boring, and to the point.

Very, very nice routine! It was all centered around the way cards are made and cutting. I think Penn is right in that all to often magicians embark on a narrative then abort it prematurely. In a way following your story occupies part of the spectators consciousness, serving almost as a form of misdirection.

Jimmy's an all-around good guy.  The fact that he's an incredibly talented magician is icing on the cake.

That's good to hear. He comes across as genuine.

Second the "nice guy" characterization. I've hung out with Jimmy a couple of times at Dan Block's convention in Buffalo. Super nice guy.

I really enjoyed his presentation and friendly persona. As mentioned above although there was a lot of counting he kept my attention and of the audience and P&T.

He mentioned that his trick was based on, or inspired by, Henry Evans (10 Exact Cuts) which I know is a marketed effect. I am sure I have read a about similar impromptu version (obviously not Jimmy's full effect but the 10 cut packets phase) but for the life of me I can't remember what or where I might have read this.

If anyone can remember please let know.

Wayne
