Richard Kaufman just reported on Facebook that John Cornelius passed away this past Sunday. He was a creative mind that will be forever remembered...

I met him around 25 years ago in a convention in my country and he made a big impression on me, his talent and his creativity were great.

Rest in Peace, John Cornelius.

Doug Henning presented his Fickle Nickle effect in one of his TV Specials...

I bought his FISM Flash around 34 years ago and when I met him a few years later, I bought an add-on to it so you can activate it in a different form. I also got his videos (VHS back then) where he teaches his FISM act and some of his different creations. He lectured for us in that same convention and he taught us, among other things, a great and easy way to vanish 4 coins without making any noise while sitting at a table.

I bought his original Pen Thru Anything and later got the new version of this great effect.

He was really an inventive guy, so sorry to hear of his passing...

Sigh. Death is a part of life, but its news never comes easy, does it? I had the pleasure of seeing John perform and lecture. He was a true gentleman and resonated a true love for magic and magicians.

Saw that on Genii.  Very sorry to hear the news.  I saw John perform and lecture.  He presented his FISM Flash and it was fun to witness.  Wonder if you can still do it with the required props?  Well, nowadays it is probably a tiny LED.
His work with the pendulum vanish was a riot.  I never tried it myself, but it was fun as heck to watch him do.  He'll be missed!

At the FISM congress in Brussels (1979) he blew away 2000 magicians with a magnificent memorized deck trick.
He will always be remembered for his "Cornelius Flash" and his "Shrinking card case". (I still have the originals from 1979)
He was indeed maybe the most creative magician in the late seventies and eighties.
May he rest in piece.
