I am looking for a source to learn what seems to be a super simple trick involving a rope and silk. I found a performance of it on youtube entitled "appearing silk/hanky on rope". the premise is a rope is shown held by each end in either hand, an overhand knot is made with the rope, and a silk "appears" in the middle of the knot. I have an idea how the trick works but it's killing me that I can't find an actual source to learn it. I have looked through my Rice's Encyclopedia of silk magic Vol 1 but it was not in there. Anyone know where I could find instructions on this? thanks!

There is a version in Marconick's Silk Magic edited by Lewis Ganson and Hugh Miller Supreme Magic pg 87 entitled Silk On.
This uses a gimmick but honestly I've been doing it as described without the gimmick.
