Does anyone remember MagiFax from the '90s?

The first issue was dated February 5, 1995, and was faxed out to people every other week. I signed up for a virtual fax number so I could get it emailed to me at the time.

It was started by Kevin King, but I couldn't find any other information about him.

I used to have the issues archived on my computer, but over the quarter-century since this came out I had one big crash that took out everything I had.  I started fresh as if I had never had a computer before then.

Does anyone know if there is an archive of these online? I did a search and only one single blurb came up. (On a little off the wall site.) Other than that it doesn't seem to exist. The person who ran it had an old prodigy email address. I could have been downloading these from the prodigy service instead of the "World Wide Web".

Below is a scan of a smudged printout I have of the first issue printed on a really cheap printer at the time. I remember that I could never get these newsletters to print right.

Can't help you with where to find MagiFax, but I believe this is the right Kevin King:

https://www.alexanderfhinc.com/axd/notices/Kevin-King

He had a couple videos out on the bill switch and the watch steal around the turn of the millennium.

Looks like there has been more than one Kevin King active in magic, so I hope someone will correct me if I got any of that wrong.

I wasn't sure either, although I thought I had read that it was the Kevin King with the bill switch.  One of the Kevin's came into a Hank Lee convention and swore, insulted, and cussed out the audience when performing and then didn't understand why no one liked him the entire weekend.

Mage, I don't remember it.  There were a couple of "journals" or "newsletters" like this around that time and they were a lot of fun to read.  There was one locally here in St. Louis for awhile put out by a magic shop.  You've motivated me to go back through some of my old stuff (when I find time to dig it out).

Thanks for jogging my memory!

Ask Alexander has some contemporaneous references to MagiFax, primarily in MAGIC magazine.

I see the main article on the page is an effect from Michael Close - unfortunately I cannot read the text.

In case anyone is trying to read the joke under the "Humor" headline, it is this:

Le Petomaine was rumored to have begun his career when he was a young f*rt.

Later in life he was known to be very long winded.

1995, the high point of magical comedy!

Luckily I found another printing of this, so this one might look better.
The last one was printed in landscape, so took up less than half the page.
