I stumbled across these 50+ free offerings by Michael Boden on Hocus Pocus Magicshop. It is very generous of him and of Hocus Pocus to share these wonderful pieces of magic.

https://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/main.cfm?cat_choice=0072

If the above link doesn't work then go to http://www.hocus-pocus.com and simply click on the Free Magic menu option on the left side of the screen after you enter the magic shop.

Enjoy!

I can't believe I've never seen this post. Michael Boden was one of my mentors in magic. He's a brilliant guy who is always working on new ideas and refining his older works. He's always thought outside the box, as it were.

Makes sure you check out his DECK MEMORIZATION and PARALLEL WORLDS routines. Two of my favorites.

I found the free section, but can't see how to add any items to my cart.  (Yes, I'm subscribed to Hocus-Pocus).

Never mind ... I found you just have to keep watching beyond the demo video to get the explanations.

Thanks for making us aware of this, John!

I can always call him or send him a text, too. He and I email once a month or so.

Wow! Thanks for sharing this.

The first one that I checked out (and that fooled me) is Box Jumper.

It's very generous of Michael to offer these for free!

What befuddles me, is how did this post slip beneath the radar for three years before it resurfaced? And, isn't it cool that the free offer is still available? Synchronicity always amazes.

Holy sh*t! I just downloaded all the free Michael Boden items. This stuff is great! These are some of the most clever things I've seen in a long time. How is it that I've never heard of this guy?

RE: downloading - I have Real Player. It's attached to my browser so when I look at a video on YouTube or Vimeo, there's a little drop down gizmo at the top. When you click it, it downloads the video. I believe that this can be thwarted when desired i.e. those who post a vid can make it difficult/impossible to download by this method. I suspect that there are apps that can download anything that's streaming. The Real Player thing downloads the video itself. There's no extra overhead that could come from a screen shot etc. I think it's free with the basic Real Player.

As I said, I worked with Mike at The Castle of Magic in Cleveland during my late teens. Mike was/is a HUGE influence on me. The PARALLEL WORLDS and his DECK MEMORIZATION are both brilliant.

I'm sending him a txt now to invite him into the Forum.

I agree, these are some very, very clever ideas!

Thank you, Mr. Boden, for freely sharing these great effects with the magic community.  I especially like Priority Prediction.

The one detailing his double lift is excellent. It also can be used as a top change and a multiple card switch. If you are struggling with your DL, stop what you are doing and try this technique.

Mike has always tried to give back to the magical community. Always quite willing to share his ideas, to let the world use them.

His DECK MEMORIZATION in Card Cavalcade TWO by Jerry Mentzer is an amazing effect I've done for years. My experience with the Gilbreath Principle. It is also mentioned in the Arthur MacTier CARD CONCEPTS book. If you like card magic with mathematical principles, it covers quite a few.

These are great!  Here's Parallel Worlds, which is a nice use of the Gilbreath Principle: (explanation here)

And Deck Memorization is a nice small-scale Out of This World routine with just 18 cards and a different method than the Paul Curry one:

Besides getting them from Hocus Pocus, you can also find all the videos here:

You got the descriptions backwards. The DECK MEMORIZATION is the Gilbreath Principle trick. PARALLEL WORLDS in the OOTW effect.

😉

You're absolutely right, I accidentally reversed the descriptions.  My mistake and my apologies - thanks for the correction!
