Sorry if redundant.

I know personally how much Mike prepared, how he polled his attendees, and how he took care to produce three views.

Same for Rudy.

The internet is still not quite stable, conferences of this type, live, are new-ish. Myriad things can go wrong.

But it all went right. Mike's pre-work was evident, Rudy's prep was as good as it gets. This is uncharted territory and it's hard.

The lecture taught me many useful things. And I was pulled away at crucial moments...but we have the link already so I may rewatch. Mike's a gem.

Being able to interact and watch and try things on the fly made this milieu one that's going to be sticky.

Nicely done!

Thanks for the kind words, Barrett! I'm glad that you were able to catch some of it LIVE.

It sure was a great lecture and Mike was so great at keeping things going and making it fun by adding trivia and prizes!

For those who still want to see it, you can send Mike 5 bucks via PayPal (mpowers@mallofmagic.com) and we'll give you access to the link...

Thanks to all who attended the lecture. I hope to have someone else lined up soon!

Rudy

Ditto tmfbls! I agree with what you said!

We are witnessing how history is being made! (Specially the way it was delivered)

Thank you Mike because we could see how much you prepared this lecture!

I have learned several things from each and every lecture we have had here on the Magician's Forum and look forward to enjoying many more and learning from them!

I agree. Very much appreciated Mike and Rudy.
Just to let you know from Tas from what I saw before I had to leave everything was          fine. I'll catch up the rest when I get home tonight. Looking forward to it.

Gareth

PS. at work today I've been shuffling and cutting cards into piles and spelling cards all day. I love that. A quicky but so good and it opens up so many possibilities if you could add a glimpse and some well disguised shuffling it's a top control. (Reviewing the video I don't even think you need the glimpse)

PPS: as you know I live in Tasmania but am originally from the UK. My mother is terminally ill with cancer back there and we catch up via skype as often as we can. She likes me to show her a trick or two when ever we do a skype. That one is perfect for a skype trick (as you say can be done over the phone). will be doing that one to bring a smile to her face tonight. Thanks Mike

Great work from Mike and Rudy.  Personally I think $5 isn't enough for a lecture of this quality...

Thanks so much guys! I'll probably send out a short questionnaire to the registrants. It'll help me do better the next time. It's certainly a strange experience to be lecturing all alone in a room. Hearing and seeing Rudy was very helpful in creating the feeling that I wasn't alone.

I think if I were to do another such lecture, I'd move my entire set up to a larger room and invite some magician friends and some lay people to act as an audience. I'd also have someone acting as a director and making the decisions regarding which camera shot to use. It was difficult to always remember to switch to the best shot. I think there was a time when I stayed on the Power Point screen and thought everyone could see me. Rudy got me back on track.

So again, many thanks to everyone who signed up. I know many of you will be watching after the fact. I hope everyone finds several items of interest that make the time spent worthwhile.

And a special thanks goes to Rudy for his hard work in making this forum so valuable! Kudos to you Rudy!!

Couldn't make it during the live cast so watching now.  The video/audio quality is great ... and the very first item "Natural Poker Power" is worth more than the $5 registration.  Mike's attention to detail and finesse is fantastic, and Rudy does a great job of representing all the viewers.  The mix of live action and Powerpoint summaries is very effective.

Excellent work by everyone involved!  I'll be watching this again and again.

When is the next one?  Also, can we retroactively purchase access to previous lectures?

Great question, Robin! Yes, you can get access to the past lectures.

Just send a private message to any of those guys and send them 5 bucks.

Steve Reynolds, Steven Youell, Steve Friedberg, Dorian Rhodell, and Mike Powers have each done a lecture for our members.

Thanks for asking!

Rudy

Terrific lecture the other day by Mike Powers. It truly made the Card Corner come alive!

Rudy, your passion for magic and TMF is remarkable. This part of your life may not quite be God's work, but it *is* very much appreciated by all of us. Thank you.

Really enjoyed the lecture. Great job, Mike. I like the idea of having an audience in the room, but I think just one or two magician buddies would be enough. Thanks to Rudy also.

Mike, when you mentioned Marlo's Magazines and M.I.N.T at your lecture, I realized I must just discipline myself and dig through them. The amount of detail is mind-boggling. Then it will be on to Riffle Shuffle Systems, and a re-read of Revolutionary Card Technique.

This should take about a decade (not counting the Harry Lorayne material I still need to work through).

As I look at my book shelf I realize that I have enough magic to last me a lifetime.

I hope that there will still be card magic in heaven [smile]

I hope so too Rudy!!! LOL

We need to learn as much as we can on this earth so we can take that knowledge with us when we get to heaven and we continue developing Magic there!

At this point the Harry Lorayne lecture would also be added to this list, I assume.

Is there a list anywhere on the site with more information about all the lectures, what they are about, along with an introduction to the presenters, etc, and how to get them?

It seems like this might be the kind of post that should be a permanent "sticky" in a sub-forum like this, to maximize the chances of people seeing it, and getting all the info they need in deciding which lectures they'd like to purchase access, and how to go about doing that.

Generally upcoming lectures are Pinned (same as sticky) here in this category with the appropriate information (dates, times, registration topics etc.) until the applicate dated has passed. Sometimes Rudy or the presenter will also post something the Open Forum (News).

Are you suggesting a separate sub-topic for upcoming lectures would be more informative than simply pinning an upcoming lecture to the top of this topic?

I hope I captured the essence of your suggestion.

Wayne

Actually I'm suggesting looking back to the past rather than ahead to the future: something that lists all previous lectures.

I’ll post something tomorrow regarding all of the lectures that are still available for purchase.

Mike Powers is one of them. Here’s one of the tricks that he taught us at his fantastic lecture:

Contact Mike to get the video. I believe that he’s charging $5, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for asking, EndersGame!

On my site the lecture is $8.95 but I'm honoring the original price of $5 here.

Paypal $5 to mpowers@mallofmagic.com and then I send a link to download.

Thanks for the good press Rudy!

I've always loved the 10 card poker deal concept, and the "Natural Poker Power" effect from Mike Powers was very nicely done!
