Hi Everyone,

I'm very pleased and excited to announce the next lecture for the members of the Magician's Forum!

Mike Powers will be giving an online video lecture on September 11th at 2pm.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Mike or his magic, you're in for a treat. Mike has written several books on magic...Powerful Magic (1983), Top Secret Stuff (1991), Power Plays (2006) to name a few and his magic has been featured in Apocalypse, The Minataur, MAGIC Magazine and M.U.M. (to name a few).

You can expect to learn some great magic that you'll want to immediately add to your repertoire.

The cost for Mike's lecture is $5 which will give you access to the video recording so you can watch it over and over again.

He also has lecture notes that will be available for purchase.

To attend Mike's lecture, please register at the following link:

I'm very grateful to Mike for his willingness to share his magic with us!!

I hope to see you all there!

Rudy

It will be around 2 hrs in length, Gareth. You'll be able to watch whatever you miss later since it will be recorded. Looking forward to "seeing you" in September.

Isn't it awesome that we can all be together from around the world? Tasmania!! Wow.

I'll be posting some info about the lecture soon. I have some things planned, but it's flexible. I'd like to get input from the participants in advance regarding some options.

More soon....

Just signed up. I'll be in a tropical paradise on the 11th. One reason the place is a paradise?... no wi-fi! I'll look forward to catching Mr. Powers lecture on the video link when I return to "civilization."

Hi Mike.

I know, it is fantastic. Really looking forward to the lecture and great that I can catch up on what I miss. Will keep eyes open for more info, have subscribed to the topic.

Gareth.

PS Tasmania is an incredible, magical place but one of it's draw-backs is it's so far from everywhere  (but at the same time one of it's strengths). Today's technology enabling us to do this sort of stuff is brilliant.

Happy, happy, happy!

Mike is an early magic "hero" of mine from back in the early '90s. Top Secret Stuff is a nugget of gold in my library. I was privileged to meet him in Colon, Michigan in the mid-90s.

Looking forward to a date, which for me is usually a day of sadness.

Jim

Sept. 11 sure rings heavy in the ears. Certainly it's a day to remember how we Americans came together and stood tall against terrorism. That's the positive side of that fateful day. We can't let them win by being fearful.

So hopefully, by 2PM, everyone will be in the mood to rock some magic!

BTW - I have a coin item called "Boston Massacre." I need to change the name. It was fine for a long time, but now has negative connotations. Any suggestions on a new name? Maybe Boston Cream Pie!

Hi Everyone,

I just had the privilege of having a one-on-one session with Mike Powers to make sure that we've got all the technical aspects addressed.

You are going to love the video quality that Mike has arranged for us to experience. We'll have three camera angles to catch all the details of his lecture (see the screen shots below).

I also got a preview of some of the material that he's going to be teaching us! "Expert Card to Pocket", memorized deck magic, some impossible card locations using his PM Principle, a center double that I've never seen before that comes from Father Cyprian, some effects from his book, "Power Plays"...we're in for a great time!

If you haven't signed up yet, please register now at the following link... https://goo.gl/UVhb4F

The cost is only $5 and will be well worthy your time and money.

See you then!

Rudy

Sounds great Rudy!  Thanks for organising.  Would it be available as a recording as well?  Unfortunately I may not be able to attend live.

Hi Chi Han,

It will most definitely be recorded so you can watch it later.

Take care,

Rudy

So far we've got 40 people signed up to attend Mike's lecture!

I forgot to mention that I asked if he'd be willing to share some of his work on the memorized deck. He showed me (and he'll be showing you) a couple of things that I believe you'll find very valuable!

Remember that space is limited and there is only room for 100 people to attend.

See you there!

Rudy

I am so excited about this. Mike is a hidden treasure. His quiet, almost shy, affectation belies prodigious skills, and tremendous insights into what makes a trick great. Thank you both, Mike & Rudy, for this opportunity.

We've got a little more than 50 folks registered for Mike's lecture tomorrow. There's still time!

It's only 5 bucks and you'll be able to access the video long after the lecture is over.

The fun starts tomorrow at 2pm (Pacific).

See you then!

Hi Everyone,

We've got close to 60 people registered for Mike's lecture today! There's only room for 40 more, so if you're still on the fence, I'd encourage you to register now. It's going to be great and I'm confident that you're getting more than your money's worth. Here's the link: https://goo.gl/UVhb4F

If you've already registered, I want to encourage you to take a moment and download the Google Chrome browser and use it to view the lecture. It seems that most technical difficulties stem from not using the correct browser. It's a simple, proactive measure that you can take right now to ensure that you won't have any troubles logging into Mike's lecture.

See you all soon!!

Rudy
