My buddy Bob White passed away this morning.  Another loss of a great old school magician.  Very talented and nice guy.

As I pass the six decade mark, the number of beloved icons preceding me to the grave grows exponentially. This year is turning out to be a tough one so far, and we're not even two months in... It's life, sure, but it's a perspective of life that remains mostly hidden to a majority of us until we reach middle age. Each passing is pause for reflection, not only of the life of the decedent, but also of our own lives and how we intend to spend our remaining days, however many they may be.

RIP Mr. White.

My condolences.

Anthony, I am nearing the six decade mark and often find myself in the same mindset as you. Each event like this makes me examine my life and look at how I am spending my time. My mother-in-law had a stroke 3 weeks ago (thankfully, she is home and doing well with only minimal effects from the stroke). That event prompted me to apply for a new job and leave the company I have worked at for 19 years. I am certain the change is the right one for me at this time in my life.

I wish I had some of this perspective when I was younger, but alas, that is not part of being youthful for most of us.

Mark

Sad news. He seemed like a truly excellent man. I am so glad those video projects captured some of his work and his personality for the benefit of current and future generations of magicians.

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I have been studying his egg bag routine for some time and find his insights on this classic very helpful.

Tom, I will never forget that you were the one that introduced to me this wonderful "The Magicians Forum."
Anytime you have a bad time you will have my support.
I didn't know Robert White but I know a good friend of him; Tom.
My condolences to his family and his friends.

I once had a video cassette where he was teaching some incredible palming techniques. They were absolutely undetectable.

So sorry to hear of this Tom.

I loved his Palming DVD and his 'It's a Matter of Style' lecture.  Flawless technique.

Thanks guys but it's our/magic's loss.  His Cup and Ball DVD along with his Card DVD are great.  I remember discussing the C&B with him, made the mistake of telling him I didn't like the false explanation.  I learned two lessons, you really need the false explanation and yes, my hair  is capable of standing up.   He spent time with Vernon, and a lot with Charlie Miller, but until he released those DVD's he was more of an underground guy.

Learned the Berg palm from his DVD. Very nice for multiple cards. Seemed like a true gentleman.
