Hi Everyone,

The amount of posts that have accumulated over the last year seem to be difficult to sift through. Because of that, I was thinking of adding a few more topic categories to help make the forum a bit more easier to navigate. I like the simple look that we've got, so I don't want to get to crazy about it.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Any topics that you'd like to see? If so, I'd like creative names for those topics.

I appreciate your input!

Rudy

Selfish, of course, but since my main interest is card magic I'd like "Card Magic" as a topic.

Personally I think there are enough potential topics from which to choose. Could it be that some folks aren't checking to see if there are already threads on certain subjects before starting new ones with similar or even the same themes? Or failing to try several search strings when searching for subject matter? The Search function works perfectly well, or it has whenever I have use it. Although I suppose it is easier to simply start a new thread, even if it does clutter things up.

I'd hate to see this forum creep toward the messy, far too bloated menu over at the Green Monster. But hey, that's just one old man's opinion.

Thanks for asking, Rudy!

Rudy, what I'd like to know is how I can get Subcategories in my own section? Trini seems to have done it. I've sent him a PM but so far, no answer. And ideas?

If your just fishing for suggestions then I'd say maybe different venues. Of course my venue is the bathroom mirror! But maybe something like children"s, party, table hopping, things like that.

A suggestion for three other categories;

Parlor/Stage - self expanatory

Close-Up - fills the void between cards and coins

Specific Venues - Start your thread off by naming your venue: Strolling, Busking, Restaurant, Cocktail Hour, Business Meeting, Trade show, etc.

Hmm... After reviewing the Evil One's suggestions I retract my original post. I think those are good ideas.

One small change recommended:

Close-Up - No Cards

Hi Rudy,

This one may not fly, but there are probably one or two out there that'd like it.

Gambling

Many things can fall under this category.  These items might are probably spread around in other categories right now. And I know one person would like it - me.

One issue with it is it might need to be PW protected because talking about a move in this realm can almost give it away.  Not sure about that though.

I recently posted a review of "Phantoms" in the book review section.  I found two folks who enjoyed the book as I did.

Anyway, just a thought.  Thanks.

I agree with Barrett, a place to discuss Monte, Shells, or Chain, etc would be good. So a Gambling section would be good.  Cards and coins are covered, but agree with another poster that a Closeup section for the items not card or coin related would be good.

Okay then.  Apologies.

How I missed this, I don't know.

There is a Category on TMF entitled "Cardsharps and Con Artists."  In the definition is "gambling."

And I suggested a Category called "Gambling."

I use Chrome and searched the TMF home page for "gambling."  Nothing.

I looked at another forum.  Yep, Gambling.

So, I must have stepped through some kind of space-time thing and ended up in one of the multiverses where there already IS a Category on Gambling in TMF.  They really should put up a "caution sign" if you get near one of those space-time things.

So... sorry about that.
