I'm after a Mene Tekel deck, and was surprised that there don't seem to be any listed for sale over at Penguin Magic (search results). All the other standard gaff decks are in ready supply (svengali, stripper, invisible deck, brainwave, mental photography, mirage, etc), but no Mene Tekel decks.

Does this go under another name and am I just looking for the wrong thing? Or is there another way that I should be sourcing (or making) this classic gaff deck?

When you find them, check the price. It may be cheaper to just buy a short deck and a regular deck, and make your own. With a short and regular deck, you'll be able to make two Mene Tekel decks.

You're right, I didn't think of that.  I discovered that Penguin does sell short decks, so that would likely be the best way to do it.

A search on "short deck" at Penguin shows that the price is under $6.00. Unfortunately they are out of stock. Murphy's sells them and has them in stock for dealers. They list $7.50 as retail for Rider backs.

I used to sell them years back, made my own, but as Jim says, these days buying a short deck and regular deck is the way to go.

Once you have one, this is a nice little booklet. https://www.lybrary.com/investigating-the-menetekel-deck-magics-forgotten-trick-deck-p-306283.html
