Years ago when Garrett Thomas was performing (and then lectured) at John Luka's Motor City Close Up convention, Daryl turned to me and said, "Magic is in good hands." I totally concurred at the time and still feel the same way. The young magicians are doing great things.

Paul Gertner echoed these sentiments at 4F last week. He expanded his thoughts in his blog. You can read it here:

To follow up on Mike's comments and Paul's blog....

I've had the pleasure of knowing Ed Kwon for a couple of years.  The kid is a beast: his chops got chops.  Moreover, he has taken to learning the classics of guys like Marlo, Jennings, Vernon, Leipzig and more....and he's read their books.

He's not enamored of the latest instant download.  He's discovered many things that are hidden in plain sight, in printed form.  If you get a chance, watch his stuff. Better yet, if you get a chance, session with him.  You will see how close-up magic, designed by the masters, is supposed to be done.

I like Ed, his magic, and his attitude towards magic ... maybe someone who knows him (looking at you Steve!) should invite him to join TMF [smile]
