Thanks Paul! Priceless. I'll never tire of listening to Harry or watching the classic performances on Carson, etc.

It's not really a lighting calculation thing - it's me doing the magic square. Oh well, I guess you could call that "lightning calculation"

Harry and Johnny ... what a thrill to see them working together!

Short story: I learned the Magic Square from Harry’s “The Magic Book”. I learned comic POV from watching Carson. But together..... Johnny did a character named “Art Fern”. He was a slick, fast-talking, late night TV huckster. And that’s how I perform the magic Square! Using Harry’s method (from the brilliant “The Magic Book”) I go through the totals of the horizontals slowly and deliberately. Then, I pick up the pace on the verticals. I then throw in jokes, fast paced mannerisms and fly through threw the diagonals, corners, etc. as if Art Fern has been revived!

Thanks again Paul for pulling this together. Thanks again, Harry for ALL you’ve done and inspires us to do.
RIP, Johnny Carson

And not once did I bring up the Slauson Cut-off. (To the uninitiated, You’ll have to find a Carson as Art Fern video to understand that one)
