This is posted with the permission of Rudy and the encouragement of friends on this forum.

I would like to start producing Video Tutorials and some Monographs again, but I need equipment that I cannot afford.

Therefore, I have a proposition for the members here.

If I can obtain this equipment through donations, then the first Tutorial I produce will be for the exclusive use of the donors. It may not be perfectly edited, but it will be highly detailed. I have two items proposed: The Classic Force and S.S.S. – the Side Steal from a Spread. The tutorial will be for the exclusive use of those who contribute $10.00 or more.

The names of the donors will literally be in the credits section of the video. There will also be a section in the video explaining that only those people are allowed to have it.

Total cost is about $500.00. This means that if 25 people donate $20.00 then they will have a tutorial designed specifically for them and exclusive to them. I’ll purchase the equipment as the money comes in, starting with the Webcam—because there’s no sense in getting the other things until I’ve secured that.

The only place this message is going up is on this forum. It will not be anywhere else and the offer is exclusive to members of this forum.

If you'd like to help and/or have any questions at all please send an email to me at syouell@cox.net or PM me! Comments here are welcome as they keep the thread at the top. If you'd just like to make a donation, PayPal syouell@cox.net and let me know!

Thanks!

Logitech Brio Webcam: $199.00
Software: $124.99
Desk Clamp Mount: $19.80
Tall Tripod: $19.80
Short Tripod: $13.90
USB Extension: $12.95
Photogenic ROYAL BLUE Close Up Mat: $69.00

You can take the tall and short tripods off of this list. I'll cover the cost of those.

I think this doesn't count as buying anything new.  Steven has been a great presence on this forum, and if this helps him put out new material I'm glad to be a part of it.

Thanks for the kind words-- I sincerely appreciate them! I've almost got to the point where I can obtain the most expensive item: the Camera.

It has capabilities of shooting in High Def and with the other equipment I can position that camera anywhere. I can give views from over either shoulder, from behind at table level for teaching false shuffles and from all sorts of audience views. I really look forward to teaching again.

Well if you're evil, it's a lot less because I can be intimidated! [biggrin]

I have ordered the most expensive item, the camera! Thanks so much! I am a little over 50% of the goal. In the interests of accountability, I have attached the receipt for the Camera. Almost there!

Usually the videos I shoot are fairly large in terms of MB, so I'm not sure.
But if anyone has an issue with Bandwidth, I can always send it on disk,
especially since there's a limited number of people receiving it.

Is there a specific concern you have?

Hi Steven. It is just that I live in The UK. Would you be willing to ship a disk over to me?
Take care.

Sure! I'm just curious -- is there a reason you're avoiding a download?

The Mat has been purchased! FYI, a light blue is one of the best colors for video-- the other colors screw up the White Balance.
I compromised and went with Navy Blue, which I've worked with before on video. Thanks to all who are making this happen!

UPDATE:  The Tripods came and two out of three have to go back. While the mini-tripod is going to be phenomenal
for Card Trick Tutorials, the large one is just two flimsy and the articulating arm actually is defective. But we're
almost there! Thanks to all who have helped!
